Thirsty for a cold Mountain Dew or Pepsi? Hungry for some Ruffles potato chips? Or maybe it is breakfast time and some Quaker oatmeal is on the menu. These are just some of the items the company PepsiCo handles. PepsiCo handles a variety of items from beverages and snacks to Quaker products and breakfast cereal to Gatorade and Propel Zero water. PepsiCo has remained a highly successful organization throughout these rough economic times. PepsiCo's executive management team has done an outstanding job in managing the company through a recession and created more global expansion for the company. Nooyi is a transformational leader. A transformational leader is one who stimulates and inspires others to achieve extraordinary outcomes (Robbins & Coulter, 2009, p.381). She also has a visionary leadership style. This was shown when Nooyi was way ahead of her competitors in moving the company toward healthier products (Schultz, 2009). Nooyi's insight into healthier lifestyles has propelled the company forward and helped them be successful through the recession. Under her direction, the company sold off Taco Bell and KFC and bought Tropicana and expended into other healthier options.
