“Business plans are statement of a business goals, reason they are attainable and plans on meeting it’ (FoxBuisness, 2013). A business plan maps the course and gives a detail plan on how these goals are achievable. It is also important to establish a solid business plan for funding. Some small business use venture capital, bank loans, personal funds, and private investors as sources of funding. The business plan must therefore, sell investors. A well-written convincing business plan can buy investors. In order to receive funding from a potential investor, the business plan must explain the structure of the investment company, project some profits for at least the third year of operation, project a steady income stream, have a clear exit strategy planned, have a strong marketing strategy to recruit and maintain customers and explain where the money will be spent. I have chosen to invest in “Grow Your Own Consulting”. The business plan convinced me that the plan is worth investing in, and the business is viable. The consulting company clearly indicated how much money was needed, where the money will go to, how they were going to achieve their goals, and the extent of my liability when investing in the business. The structure of the business is appealing, as it will be set up as a sole proprietorship (slide 19).
