Business Process Reengineering and ERP 1. Abstract: Business Process Reengineering (BPR) is a method, helps to observe and analyze the business process to determine the changes within or outside the enterprises to streamline the operations of the business. Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is software platform that helps the organization to determine how to utilize the available resources. This paper highlights the BPR process and its importance in the implementation of ERP and also gives the phases of BPR process to the micro level view of the phrases. This paper also list out the factors which affect the BPR process. The factors are categorized into different aspects of organization like Managerial, Operation, Technical and Financial aspects. 2. Introduction: Michael Hammer is the pioneer of the concept of BPR during 1990’s. They define BPR as “the fundamental rethinking and radical redesigning of business process to achieve dramatic improvement in critical contemporary measures of performance, such as cost, quality, services, and speed”. Homeas H. Davenpoirt who is the American academician and familiar in the area of business strategy defines BPR as “encompasses the envisioning of new work strategies, the actual process design activity, and the implementation of the changes in all its complex technological, human, and organizational diminutions”.
