Friday Night Lights is a book that explains how a high school football team is close to making it to state championships. With one of the best players on their team injured, they must work harder to become the state champions.
The author’s objective and target towards the reader is to entertain the reader and persuade him or her. The author entertains the reader by giving heart racing sentences that leave the reader excited or in worried ways. For example, the pass fails leaving
Permian High School to lose. Also, the team trainer worries that “Boobie”, the star football player, will never be able to play again after being stepped on by another player. The author’s target to the audience was to persuade and entertain them by making a story

These moods had their own part to making the story bigger and better. The moral of the story is to have hope, always try your hardest no matter what, and to never give up.
The age group for this story was 14 and older. The theme was non-fiction.
The author is Buzz Bissinger and he published the book in 1990. The protagonist were Coach Gaines, “Boobie,” and Mike. The antagonist was the opponents, other football teams/players. The climax of this story was
Permian High School had two wins but lost to Carter on their last game with the score 14-9. In the end, Permian football players go back to living their lives.
Friday Night Lights was engaging to me because I learned some valuable life lessons about never giving up and always trying your best. It was a persuasive story because I believed that
Permian High School had a chance to make it to State Championship but they didn’t make it in the end. I enjoyed this book because I thought the story was strong and inspiring. There were many different parts to the story that led up to something surprising and unexpected. The end of the story was perfect to me because it didn’t have a happy ending but it also didn’t have a
The excitement and happiness are what we wanted to feel when hopefully lifting up a trophy. We needed to prove that not one person can talk down about us without there being a consequence. Every day for hours we pushed ourselves and each other. We became stronger individually and as a team. It was time for preseason, and this is where we must justify our position in our division. We played in one of the hardest group divisions in the whole country, which was exceptional because that left no room for failure, it just left room for us to
I enjoyed the ending of the book because it was happy and hopeful. After many chapters filled with starvation, back-breaking work, death and tragedy, Katie marries Sergeant McShane (pg. 470). Sergeant McShane is a kind man who can easily support Katie and her children. Katie’s oldest children, Francie and Neeley, were able to attend college. Also, Laurie, Katie’s youngest daughter, would grow up without facing any hardships. The Nolans move out of their apartment the day before the wedding (pg. 488) while Francie gets ready to leave for college at University of Michigan (pg. 477). The ending of this novel was happy and I liked it very much.
Friday Night Lights is a non-fictional book written by Harry Gerard Bissinger III. Bissinger wrote the book in 1990. Chris Weeden wrote that Bissinger said, “It’s my best book, my most ambitious book, but I knew halfway through it was going to have a very limited audience” (2006). Bissinger was in search of a town controlled solely by sports. Therefore, this search led him to the Permian High School in Odessa, Texas (the setting for the novel). Friday Night Lights shows how a struggling town uses its beloved high school football team to overcome racial problems, political disagreements, and an unprosperous economy.
With the state tournament less than one week away the Trojans 12 year old team was being told that they can’t win. But they knew they could and the coaches believed that to. But it would take hard work and determination. That is exactly what the Trojans have.
The hope was not lost, the game was far from over. Scoring our first goal in hopes to make a comeback. After that another goal lifted our spirits, and one last goal to finish the period. At the end of the second, of the big state game, the score was tied 3-3. It all came down to the final period. The wait was over it all comes down to this, Drake cannot afford to lose this. “It's time” the team all said to themselves.
Though it did have a logical ending, it may not have the best ending. The author could have made it better easily.
After losing our last game, the underclassmen came together and decided that the next season would NOT be a repeat of the last.
Broken up into six different crossing paths all ending in a very happy ending. The first scenario is that of a picturesque love story, boy and girl meet, fall in love, and get married. The remaining scenarios all end the same as the first, but not before spiraling out to a more realistic lengths of everyday life.
Although most would say our senior class was disappointing in regards to state titles, I do not think I could be any prouder of a group of people. I learned what it means to be unconditionally a part of an athletic team, whether athlete or fan. I would not give up being part of Second Place Academy for anything. My experience changed me for the better; in ways a ring and a trophy could
When we beat Vinton Shellsburg 6 to 5 in the substate final, I thought the feeling of finally making it was the best I’ve ever had. I was wrong. Making it to state brought the 2016 Saber baseball team team closer than ever before, to something we didn’t even know was possible. We spent everyday together having team bonding. An outpouring of support from the community was followed by an insane amount of news coverage. News vans would record practices, and after multiple players would be interviewed. Articles were written, and a multitude of "good lucks" were sent our way. We hadn't even gotten to Des Moines yet.
What are some significant events and people involved in them that lead up to the climax / resolution of this story?
In the story of “Happy Endings” by Margaret Atwood, we see a story that contains multiple organized plots. Each story has a different version with the same characters with different endings. The plot in “Happy Ending” starts from a perfect life and goes until a terrible one. Each plot begins in the same way, with John and Mary meeting. For instance, in “A,” John and Mary meet, have good lives, rich hobbies, remain deeply in love, fulfilling each other emotionally and successfully, and then, they die.
I have finally finished my book, and I have to say, I really did like it. Was it my favorite book ever? No, but I thought the plot was well thought out and the book was well-written as a whole. I have to say, I was happier with the novel when I wrote the first blog post because my main complaint is the ending. It is not only really sad, but it also doesn’t seem to connect with the other parts of the story. I thought one of the morals was to learn to tough out hardships and conflicts, yet the main two characters decide to escape the world they live in altogether and choose to just bounce around with nothing to fear. Also, after the first half, the perspective began to shift. It used to be third person omniscient and mainly followed Ender,
The majority of critics tend to view the ending of the novel as the focal point of the story in order to solidify the
October 19, 2016 is the first round of sectionals. We play the Batesville Bulldogs. Our season opener opponent that we successfully took home the W in five nail biting sets. The bus ride there is quiet, everyone has their headphones plugged in getting pumped up for the match. Focus. There was not one thing that could distract us from getting that W once more to bring back home. Until, we walked in the door. We’ve been here before, so it shouldn’t be a shock to anyone that it was their home court advantage. We were the underdogs it seemed like, but the focus is still strong, headphones turned up even louder. We walk into the locker room and get our things together to start warming up. We all get in a circle and pray that this is our year. We hug, we sing, we dance, and we sure as heck scream at the top of our lungs.
