Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is a rare type of cerebrovascular disease, accounting for 0.5% of all strokes. The annual incidence of CVT ranges 3–4 cases per million populations CVT is a multifactorial disease, with at least one predisposing factor identified in 80% of patients, including hereditary thrombophilia, pregnancy and puerperium, postoperative state, intracranial or local infections and use of oral contraceptives. Genetic or acquired thrombophilia, identified in more than 20% of the CVT patients, is among the most frequent identified risk
Venous thrombosis forms in response to inflammation in the vein wall as a result of venous stasis. Factors contributing to the development of deep vein thrombosis in the postpartum client include increased amounts of certain blood clotting factors, obesity, increased maternal age, high parity, prolonged inactivity, anemia, heart disease, and varicosities. Marie's history does not indicate any risk factors for deep vein thrombosis.
CVI Ware required some assistance formulating the supporting details for violations on his SHP-225 forms. On September 23, CVI Ware did not give enough specific detail for a hose chafing violation. His original violation description left question to weather a violation existed. I discussed with CVI Ware the importance of detail in the SHP-225 forms and how lack of details can lead to an inspection challenge.

Brighton High School needs to incorporate core subjects in classrooms other than those tested on core subjects. In order to ensure school-wide student achievement, Brighton High School will incorporate literacy and math in Career Technical Education (CTE) classes beginning the 2015-2016 school year. To ensure higher rates of success and accountability to the students, the mastery learning model would give teachers the necessary framework to articulate their understanding across the curriculum through the literacy and math integration (Henson, 2015). By using Leadership Team, aligned curriculum, and curriculum maps, teachers will be empowered to make the literacy and math integration successful. Previously, there has not been a
For this discussion, I will review the media program then explain the human services professional (HSP) is ethical conflict that is surfacing. Secondly, I will disclose how I would handle this ethical conflict as a HSP. Finally, I identify a code of ethics to justify my opinion.

The Fortune 500 company I chose is CVS Health. I chose this for a few different reasons. First, I recently had to visit the Minute Clinic in the CVS store twice within the last month. Secondly, I chose CVS because it is part of the health care initiative and I work for a healthcare company.
There are two main types of PPIS which are defined as Arterial Presumed Perinatal Stroke (APPS) which “are due to an occlusion of a brain artery” (University of Calgary, 2017) and Periventricular Venous Infarction (PVI) that are strictly fetal strokes where “Bleeding of the germinal matrix is the primary problem” (University of Calgary, 2017). Presumed Perinatal Ischemic Strokes are so named because they occur between the middle of a mother’s second trimester into the first year of life of the child and are diagnosed after the stroke has occurred, usually later in the development of the patient. Several things can lead to perinatal ischemic strokes and each patient is different depending on surrounding circumstances as well as personal environments. However, one of the most common causes of a perinatal ischemic stroke is a blood clot forming in the heart and traveling to the brain which resulting in hypoxia. This can be a result of congenital heart problems like abnormal valves, infections, or diseases. One such disease is called sickle cell which is results in the red blood cells not carrying enough oxygen to the brain causing a stroke to occur. PPIS can also be caused by any trauma that injures the large arteries and results in a loss of
This stagnant blood forms clots that break off and inter the circulation. Atrial Fibrillation is a factor in about 15% of Embolism stroke. The risk of a stroke from atrial fibrillation can be dramatically reduced with daily use of anticoagulant medication.
Thrombin is a naturally occurring protein that is present in the blood of humans and animals. The main function of thrombin is as an intermediate step during hemostasis, which slows bleeding by forming blood clots. Thrombin acts as an enzyme during an injury, converting fibrinogen to fibrin, which then causes blood clots to form. Due to its properties, thrombin’s application to the medical field includes topical surgery in the case of minor injuries as well as various other medical procedures such as neurosurgical operations. Apart from applications in the medical field, thrombin also plays significant roles by directly interacting with endothelial cells throughout the body.
Substance abuse within the US is a very significant issue, with costs “exacting over $600 billion annually” (National Institute on Drug Abuse, 2015). Various laws and regulations have been put in place in order to lower the amount of substance abuse cases. This has in turn triggered the establishment of appropriate public administration institutions. Even with these institutions there has been very little relief with the issue of substance abuse.
