Comparing the book to the movie you can clearly tell what certain things are different. For example, Sydelle Pulaski worked for Mr. Westing in the movie but only talked over the intercom. This not only caused a lot of drama but more depth to the plot. Also, Crow didn’t go to jail but they did talk about most of the consequences of her going to jail. This made a little bit more serious and emotional instead of just letting it go.

For instance, in the book Joppy knew Albright; Albright knew Todd Carter; Todd Carter knew Richard McGee as well as Matthew Terrell whereas in the movie every character denied knowing each other except Albright and Joppy. Another noticeable difference is that in the book Frank Green, Daphne’s brother ends up murdered and in the movie he lives and they both end up moving. The third noticeable difference is a character name change from the book to the movie; Matthew Teran in the book is Matthew Terrell in the movie and he ends up being murdered in the book whereas at the end of the movie he’s running for mayor. A fourth noticeable difference is the pier scene. In the book Albright and Easy meet at the Santa Monica pier and in the movie it is the Malibu pier. And the last most noticeable difference between the book and the movie is that Mouse knows Daphne Monet or shall we call her by her real name Ruby Hanks; however, in the movie the audience never finds that out. In the movie the only true thing you get to know about Daphne is that she is both black and white. Therefore, due to the many differences between the book and the movie it is confusing to the audience since it is almost like dealing with two different stories because of the plot inconsistencies.

Like any movie based on a book, the movie of The Call of the Wild presents different characters and events than the book so it can be unique and enjoyable. Cruel circumstances require Buck to lose his carefree attitude and somewhat peaceful outlook on life. Love then enters his life and causes him to see life through new eyes. In the end, however, he must choose between the master he loves or the wildness he belongs in.

When the socs and the greasers are going to have the big rumble in the book Darry asks if anyone wants to fight him but in the movie the person that he fight in both the book and movie says he will fight him. After the big rumble Dally and Ponyboy go to see Johnny who is almost dead and after he dies Ponyboy freaks out in the book and thinks he's not dead but in the movie it is only Dally. In the book Dally goes and robs a grocery store but in the movie he robs the gas station. When Dally leaves in the movie the guy shoots Dally and injures him but in the book he never had a gun. There were a lot of differences that I noticed between the book and movie. One of the differences that I really liked is how we got a sense of Abigail’s insanity in the movie. She looks and sounds a lot more convincing in the movie than in the book. One thing that I noticed is that in the movie, when Abigail is trying to wake Betty up, many of the girls who has also danced with them were there as well, yet in the book it was only Abigail, Betty, Mercy and Mary Warren in the room. There are many stories we have read which I like, but there was one that a lot of people absolutely loved and it was Call of The Wild. Call of The Wild was my favorite book we have read so far. It was jam packed with action, some parts were funny, gruesome, and a lot more then I can explain. The reason why I liked it so much is because it is my type of book, and it also includes my type of humor. The main idea of it all was just very interesting and entertaining. Also to go along with the great book was the movie, which made those little bits of the story come to life.
