“This is ridiculous, Daphne” “Well I disagree, Theo, and my opinion is the only one that matters” said a very exasperated Daphne. The two reckless teens stood in front of a colorfully lit tent. The carnival had come into town and they decided to check it out. They stood before a tent that probably exclaimed that a psychic inside would tell you your future, for the mere price of five ninety-nine of course. “Come on Theo, it’ll be fun” Daphne egged on. Theo rolled his eyes, but allowed her to drag him inside. The tent was dark and smelled like the contents of a cinnamon aromatherapy candle. On the floor of the tent was numerous pillows of different styles and shapes where scattered across the floor. The focal point, however, was the center …show more content…
“Yes” Daphne said very enthusiastically. Theo just shrugged. “Do you have payment” the lady asked. Daphne forcefully nudged Theo until he pulled out his wallet. He handed her a twenty and she took it without another word. “Hey, what about my change” Theo asked the lady gave him a cold look. “Coins are for the gentry. You are not a part of the gentry” Theo rolled his eyes. “I am Calypso the Mystical. I can go to the great beyond and see glimpses of the future, but only for those who truly seek it” Calypso pronounced. “We paid the money, we’re worthy” Theo said impatiently. Daphne shushed him and urged Calypso to continue. “As I was saying, I shall swim and seek a glimpse into your future. Grasp my hand darlings” Calypso said as she extended her hands to her guests. Daphne and Theo both took hold of her Calypso suddenly started to hum and sway side to side. “Is your name….Theodore, young man” Calypso asked. Daphne gasped in shock. Theo …show more content…
Calypso shook her head. “Your life is short, very short. I don’t see much of anything past this meeting. I’m very sorry, but the faiths have determined it this way” Calypso said solemnly. “Oh god” Daphne exclaimed with great worry in her voice. Theo rolled his eyes and violently threw of Calypso’s hand off of his. “That’s it. I’m done with this insanity. You are an AWFUL woman. Who in their right mind thinks it’s ok to profit off of the worries of teenage girls. I hope that the faith decide that YOUR LIFE shall be cut short” Theo said in a rage. Theo grabbed Daphne’s hand. He yanked her up from her seat on the floor and proceeded to drag her out of the tent. “I told you that this was a dumb idea. She doesn’t know what in the world she’s talking about. She probably snuffed some LSD and is wacked out of her mind. Who just tell someone straight to their face that they’re going to die? She’s so full of sh-” Suddenly a medium sized ball whizzed by Daphne’s head. It hit Theo in the back of the head. Theo went down like a bag of sand and dropped with a heavy thud. Thick red blood flowed from the back of his skull and he’s eyes stared blankly in front of him. Daphne screamed in sheer horror and the rest of the carnival patrons turned to see why. Panic ensued as the crowd tried to rush away. Daphne bent down onto her knees and cradled the bleeding Theo. In the middle of the chaos no one noticed when Calypso stepped out of her extravagant tent. Her eyes
“Well, your father and I decided it was time I came to stay with you for a while to help Calpurnia.”
"Hey Laura, I'm sorry for making you feel bad back there." Carmilla was sad about making Laura cry.
I lean against the wall of the alley, staring out at the swarm of people rushing through the square, in the fading sunlight. I let out a sigh, as I realize that I need to come up, with my next move. I’ve been out here on the streets searching for the Rebels, for little under a week now, and I’m not any closer to finding them, then I was back in Gold district.
“I guess we could call them. These people sound like saints. They must cost a fortune,” he pleaded.
Gasparro was keeping one wary eye on the stranger at the far table. Trouble. He had a feel for it. Night like this one, with the wind howling chill down off the steppes, and not a soul through the pass out of Midland for a month. Maybe longer. Times past, the common room would've been thick with travellers, tall tales, news. Times past. The Black Ram had always been a little run down. But now it was run down to the ground, and empty into the bargain. If people came, they didn't linger. They drank and left, or they wrapped themselves up in their cloaks and trudged on up the stairs to a room. A skittish glance and the words, "Hard times," was as much as came out of them.
It was supposed to remain serene like it’s past years slumbering, yet, despite all of this, it awakened just to shake his village to it’s last roots. At first, it was another mellow rumble in the sky, over the peak of the lush mountains; there wasn’t very much to think but respite at the noise. Ceniza was sure that thunder brought rain in Quito, at least enough for his parents to drink instead of grimy dish water. No matter how much he feared the building sound, Ceniza forced himself out of the quiet hut out for at least one bucket of water, stretching out a metallic container in faith- just until a terrifying roar emerged from beneath him, evolving into a louder resound as the ground below him shifted violently, throwing Ceniza off balance.
Calum watches Michael silently while he sleeps, his bare chest slowly moving up and down as he snores softly. The sun is barely peeking through the curtain on the other side of the hotel room, softly laying across the side of Michael's face, and Calum can see little dust motes dancing around in the light.
As Bluzette walked out of the front door, the cold October wind hit her like a slap on the face. She checked her phone. It read 7:33. She was going to the small carnival across town. “Do you have your money Bluezette?” Her mom called. She really didn't mind if she was out late. She let her have that kind of freedom.

When the box landed in Macon, a little farm town, the box was delivered to a local farmer. The farmer was out of town so the mail man left it on the front porch. So when they new it was ok to crawl out they did. It took them two hours to finally find a nice field with nice neighbors, so when they got there they got straight to work. They built a little hut in the very middle of a nice Ry field. The smell of smoke filled the den of Sycorax and Caliban as they where sleeping in there den. The sunlight was blinding as it cascaded onto the ground and my feet were aching.
“That is all right. I know that neither of us have any money,” said Greedy.
“Oi, Cos!” Cosima could hear Sarah call out to her from behind but it didn’t matter. She couldn’t be around her sister right now, couldn’t stomach their looks of pity. Not when she had to find Delphine.
"I don't need your money." she picked it up and tried to protest, "You don't have to...I mean I was the one bugging you. Your
