I want to make a positive and lasting impact on young students who aspire to accomplish great things and wish to stand where I stand now. Columbia offers numerous communities, such as Camp Kesum, a supportive program for children whose parents have cancer, as well as Columbia Youth Adventurers, a program allowing children who come from families very similar to mine to foster self-esteem and learn to love education. I wish to join as many of these programs as I can manage, and to make a positive impact on children’s lives that will last a generation. The youth in our nation and the youth in New York City need support, need guidance, and need someone to trust. I want to be there for
I see students as the next generations’ heroes in so many fields. In my vision, I have to inspire students and prepare them with confidence, knowledge, experience and skills. Which means I encourage, communicate, guide, teach, and assess students in order to enrich their infrastructures.
I am interested in being a part of the Camp MD program because I really love the medical field and I want to make new friends there who share the same thought towards the medical field as me. Anything and everything medical related has always been so fascinating to me ever since I was a little kid. It has had my eye because my family was always at the hospital dealing with surgeries, chemo treatments, and illnesses. And I thought it was cool how the doctors were able to help those who were sick and dying. In school, I have taken a medical terminology class in order to help get me started with the medical field, and next year I will be taking an anatomy and physiology class along with a CNA class to help pay for schooling. I am wanting to become
I will educate younger African American children, becoming a mouth piece and passing on what I learned from the conference. This will in turn influence and inspire my peers to strive for greatness. In conclusion, my mission is to provide a message of fortitude to young African American children. I will to create an environment that exposes African American youth to the problems that we face today. I have the hopes of inspiring and motivating youth you reach their greatest potential and take part in things that may seem unfathomable and beyond their greatest imagination if they work hard for
My proposed solution to this is that school counselors and city mayors can be a major source of inspiration to children who are affected by a challenge like this. They can advise them on how to build themselves with determination to make a difference.
In fifth and sixth grade, I was invited to attend The National Young Leadership Forum, an organization dedicated to serving academically gifted and talented youth. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to spend a week in Washington D.C., where I learned the qualifications of a righteous leader and to develop academic abilities and interests. I will bring my knowledge of leadership to sustain a school community in which students will strive to maintain integrity and trust with each other. By engaging in community service, I have an opportunity to learn experientially, expose myself to diversity, and develop a sense of responsibility. By volunteering in multiple ways in the last several years, I was able to knit hats for children in hospitals, help at a local food bank, create and donate bookmarks for third graders, and help at the Bellaire Public Library. Helping others has given me a great sense of satisfaction and I plan to continue working on various community service projects in the future. Born and raised to Israeli parents, I am benefited with bilinguality, traveling overseas, exposure to other cultures, and insight on global
I am grateful to have been able to pick up an application for this summer camp program. I know I will have fun learning all this new material that I can apply to real life. On the other hand, I will become better at peer relations, teamwork, and leadership- which currently I’m working on getting better at, so Camp Med will also help me become a better person in general. This is why Camp Med directors should let me attend this program because I have committed myself to developing into a better person to prepare myself for a career in the medical field. One more reason for why I am interested in Camp Med is because I have a passion for learning about medical related subjects, but Camp Med will allow me to be educated
It is because of Anita Johnson that I want to help high school students reach their full potential and help them be change agents in society. The simple act of letting them know they are worth something great creates an inner drive to do better. I would like to motivate the students by . When students find their passion, they go out and do wonderful things in the world. What they do creates their value.
I have the privilege of being involved with such an impactful organization. While helping, youth developed lifestyle skills, I’m also developing skills. Each year I form some amazing relationships that create lifelong friendships. Excitedly each encounter with the youth helps build my belief on why it’s important to help others along my journey. Therefore, being involved with this organization has transform and impacted
I would like to attend Materials Camp to learn more about the subjects that I am passionate about. As far back as I can remember, I have loved science and technology. My two favorite areas of science are Geology and Agriculture. Because I was motivated to learn more about these subjects, I researched and sought out professors in these fields to learn more outside of school. In school, I enjoy math, science (Chemistry, Physics, Advanced Biology), and computer classes. I love learning more about anything in the STEM field and enjoy meeting and learning from people who work in all fields of STEM.
The future is a frightening place, and for eighteen years of your life you are encouraged to envision the most successful version of yourself, molded into the most predictive form of the future you, and given the utensils you will need to make that aspiration tangible. For eighteen years of my life I’ve been driven by my aspiration and determination to do better— to learn better, to overcome my environment, to give back to the community that raised me. I’ve strived to make a difference because, in order to be successful, your educational choices will not be the only deciding factor, rather your life choices will, too. Cheyney University has accepted my decision to be a source of change as a product of their institution, and the Keystone Honors
Through my work as a counselor at Buena Vista High School in Lakewood I have been able to perform developed a strong interest in helping students succeed. While helping to organize a college and career day event, performing credit/grad checks with seniors, and counseling students who had educational, personal, and social challenges, I have XXXX
Because recruitment is such a challenge, Hempstead University and the We Love Kennedy Youth Center should continue to in their attempts to engage the community. They should use social networks through the public school system, Parent Teacher Association, religious organizations, community businesses, etc. They should also use Hempstead University to spread the word among professionals and students. Creating a larger awareness in the greater community can help get the word out in other ways; this may also recruit more people to help with the program through donations or their time. When using Hempstead University’s networks, the center can get in contact with the School of Education at Hempstead University who places student teachers and education students who need to complete observations at schools within the Kennedy school district. Although breaking the barriers to recruitment and
“A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.”-Jackie Robinson As an educational leader, there are more opportunities to influence and impact others, however, there is great responsibility to ensure these will produce positive effects. As a new leader, I have spent a great deal of time analyzing and figuring out my domain of influence as well as when I have a voice to speak or act within my authority.
Since my early childhood, I have dared to dream loftily and have always achieved my goals with my single-minded determination through the unpaved path of success. As a high school student I was the vanguard of the class by being elected as the head of Students’ Assembly for four
I have many goals I want to achieve in the near future and far. My main goal right now is to finish high school strong. I have kept a 3.9 GPA throughout my high school years and that is how I want to finish it. In the near future I want to continue my hard work into college at the University of Cincinnati and maintain a good GPA there. I also look to graduate college in 4 years where I will get a degree in business and go on to find a good job. I was apart of Hancock Youth Leadership last year and I went around the community and saw many different people working hard and doing what they love. It was a great experience for me to see how much all of these different people loved their job and how much dedication they had towards it. This made
