Background of the country:
Canada is the world’s second largest country which is divided into smaller governing units known as provinces and territories. There are 10 provinces and 2 national territories in this country. The capital of this country is Ottawa, Ontario.
The name Canada was fully reestablished after 1791, when Britain separated old Quebec into the provinces of Upper and Lower Canada (renamed in 1841 Canada West and Canada East, respectively, and collectively called Canada). In 1931, Canada became entirely self-governing within the British Empire, though full legislative independence was not achieved until 1982.

Almost half of the country is covered by the Canadian Shield which means an ancient region with some of the world's oldest known rocks. The southern portions of the Shield are covered with boreal forests while the northern parts are tundra because it is too far north for trees.The western part of the Canadian Shield is the central grasslands. The southern plains are mostly grass and the north is forested. There are hundreds of lakes in this area.
