In women, one of the most common cancers of course is breast cancer, in men prostate cancer and in men and women, lung cancer and colon cancer are common cancers. It is important to understand that the cancer that occurs in one individual is very different from the cancer that occurs in another. Everyone is different; a lung tumor in one person will be different from a lung tumor in another person. Once a diagnosis of cancer is made, the next obvious question is what do you do? There are several things that are really relevant, for example, the stage of the cancer which is information about where is the cancer?

Throughout life, many individuals experience difficulties due to growing up in everyday life. While going in depth of the human life, it is discovered that there are many diseases and disorders that affect humans’ everyday functions. A very popular disease that has traumatically affected the human body is cancer. Cancer is a disease that spreads throughout your body in many ways. The purpose of cancer is to attach to a blood cell in your body and cause a plague within itself, causing the body to initially shut down and die. This disease contains many forms and have many causes to it. However its main goal is to destroy the human body.

Abstract Cancer “Sucks” and many individuals today are dealing with it or know someone who has dealt with it. The late president Richard Nixon declared war on cancer in 1971 and we have been fighting the battle ever since (McCarthy, 2015, paras. 16). “The Emperor of All Maladies” captured the whole essence of cancer. This book gave a very good narrative of the historical record of cancer, the scientists and important public figures who contributed to the fight against a disease that has so much caused despair, pain, disfiguring of the body and worst of all, death. Cancer is seen as the abnormal growth of cells. A normal cell becomes cancerous when there is a defect in the regulation of its growth. Cancerous cells also tend to be elusive and resistant to treatments. Numerous attempts have been channeled into demystifying the nature of cancer. Some of these attempts proved abortive while a few served as a harbinger of hope. Cancer have proved to be part of our genetic makeup, hence, total eradication of it remains a future accomplishment.

Cancer prevention is the action of lowering the chances of cancer. Cancer is not just a single disease, but a group of related diseases. Cancer cells are cells that don’t respond to normal regulatory signals. The cancer cells then disrupts the cell cycle and starts to grow/divide uncontrollably. Many things in our lives affect the chances of getting cancer. No one wants cancer, since it not only puts physical and emotional problems on someone, it also creates debt which can be a heavy burden on a person, family, or the public. Today, scientist are studying ways to prevent cancer, such as changes in diet/lifestyle; avoiding things that are known to cause cancer; finding precancerous conditions before they become serious; risk reducing surgery and chemoprevention(medicines to treat precancerous conditions).

Cancer is a dreaded nightmare that no one wants to have. It is a demon so powerful that it is hard to expel once encountered; it takes every last bit of energy and strength to fight this disease to the very end. Cancer is a bully that influences one’s body to turn against itself and to just sit there like a coward not fighting back. Why is this? What causes cancer? Why can cancer not be expelled as easy as a common cold, or the flu? How is cancer treated? How can cancer be prevented? Through statistics, knowing how cancer works, and how to prevent cancer, one can stand their ground and carry out an all out attack on this disease.
