Joint Base Cape Cod (JBCC) is located on Cape Cod. The JBCC is recognized as a Superfund site in 1989 by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The base contaminated the groundwater in the surrounding towns. “Contaminated areas were the result of chemical/fuel spills, fire training activities, landfills, and drainage structures (cumulis.epa)”. The site is currently being cleaned up by the National Guard Bureau and the Department of the Air Force. The Air Force is cleaning one part of the base under Superfund. The Army is cleaning the other part under the Safe Drinking Water Act. The EPA is overseeing that everything is being cleaned to their set standards. Currently the Air Force holds public meetings to explain the results and new
By identifying the sediment size at each station allows the amount of long shore drift happening at each stage of the beach to be assessed and evaluated. If the size of the rocks decrease in size closer to the harbour arm, it will help prove my hypothesis

First Coast, also known as Northeast Florida, is located on the Atlantic coast, comprising of five counties surrounding Jacksonville: Duval, Baker, Clay, Nassau and St. Johns. It extends past the southern end of Anastasia Island to Marineland. Ponce De Leon is believed to have landed in the First Coast region during the early 1500s on his first expedition. In the 1560s, the French established the colony of Fort Caroline in what is today Jacksonville. First Coast is not only known for its historical significance, but it is also the state’s best-kept secret as vacationers paradise, that

I just started working at Oyster Harbors Club a few weeks ago, but my experience there has been wonderful. It has been an honor life guarding on the beach, and getting to know all the families and the children attending camp. I enjoy working in such a friendly family environment, and I am excited to work next summer as well. My educational plans for the future consist of acquiring my bachelors degree in biology that would help me in pursuing a medical career as a doctor. My passion has always been helping others whether it is at work, making sure people are safe, or giving back to my community. After becoming a certified doctor, I plan on specializing in dermatology. I am a very hard
On 9/9/2015 at about 0100 hours, I was westbound on East Plant Street approaching the intersection of North Street when I observed the defendant’s vehicle eastbound on East Plant Street from 9th Street. I observed that the defendant’s driver’s side headlight was not working. After the vehicle past me I conducted a U-turn and got behind the vehicle. I then noticed the tag light was not working. I conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle bearing FL tag#042QWH just east of the intersection of East Plant Street and West Crown Point Road. Upon approaching the vehicle and requesting the driver’s driver license the defendant stated she does not have a license. I ran her name and date of birth through teletype, via dispatch, which revealed the defendant’s

The naval side of the civil war in Florida all started with the Pensacola harbor. There was a navy yard and three forts guarding the harbor, including Fort Barrancas, Fort McRee, and Fort Pickins. On January 8, 1861, Florida Governor Madison S. Perry authorized Colonel Chase to seizing the forts at Pensacola. On the Fort Barrancas, 1st Lieutenant Adam J. Slemmer was an officer from Montgomery County, Pennsylvania during the Seminole Wars and the American Civil War. He heard rumors that the Florida Militia was planning on seizing the Navy Yard, the barracks and the forts in the Pensacola areas. With Slemmer not wanting to enter the union he moved gunpowder and other materials to Fort Pickens, which he thought, would be the safest port to fight from.

A community is where a group of people with many different backgrounds are united by one common thing. College and universities think putting young adults on a campus where they eat, sleep and learn together will make them become one community. Communities are made from within not from outside forces smashing people together. Florida Atlantic has many communities inside of it created by people who have the same interests in life. FAU doesn't have one set community as a whole because they are mostly characterized into different smaller groups and when brought together they form smaller cliques that don't usually interact.
