The constellation that I have chosen is Capricornus. Capricornus is one of the twelve zodiac constellations, and it symbolizes the sea-goat. The best time to see this constellation would be at ten o'clock at night in September and October, especially if you live in the Northern Hemisphere. I chose this constellation because according to Astrology I am a Capricorn and thought it would be interesting to know more about the constellation relating to my zodiac sign. Capricornus has five stars with planets in it's constellation. The myth of the constellation Capricornus is of Greek origin. This is the mythological story of how the constellation Capricornus was created. The Olympian Gods had battled the Titans and were looking for refuge in Egypt …show more content…
They named the first one Adonios and the second one Claudios. Adonios had been born of the two human halves of Tywin and Atlissa, while Claudios had been born of the fish and goat halves. Adonis always excelled in everything he did and was often cruel and boastful about it to Claudios. One day Claudios and Adonios were out playing by the river where their parents had met and a beautiful woman walked by. Adonios ran to her and began talking to her, but the beautiful girl denied Adonis. Later that night Claudios awoke to a beautiful sound outside and wondering what the sound was went to find out. Claudios found the beautiful girl outside by the pond, and walked over to talk to her. The girl introduced herself as Mara and told him she was a water nymph. Soon the two fell in love and every night they would meet by the water side. One night Adonios followed Claudios and found out his secret, and being enraged and hurt, confronted them. He swore he loved Mara from the day they met and had thought of nothing but her every day. Claudios tried explaining his feelings to his brother but Adonios was far too angry and powerful for Claudios to defend himself. Adonios pulled Claudios to the water and began ripping him apart. Mara begged
The constellation I chose was Camelopardalis. This constellation represents my favorite animal, the Giraffe. Unsurprizingly, this constelation does resemble the Giraffe in appearance. The name this constellation bears comes from the Greek, and has three meanings: leopard, Giraffe, and camel. Camelopardalis can be seen best in the month of Febuary. However, it is not terriable visable. Overall, Camelopardalis is only a 4th magnatude consellation. There are eight other constellation in the vansinity of Camelopardalis.
I chose Sagittarius for my favorite constellation. Sagittarius is latin for Archer and sits next to Scorpius on the west and Capricornus to the East. I chose this constellation because it is my astrology constellation and I wanted to learn more about it.
The Constellation I chose is Lupus, also called „the Wolf“. It’s located in the southern sky and was one of the 48 constellations, which were listed by Ptolemy, a second century astronomer. Previously it was an asterism associated with its neighbour constellation Centaurus, but belongs to the now 88 official constellations. It has nine main stars, 41 Bayer stars and five stars with planets. Lupus is surrounded by six different constellations: Hydra, Scorpius, Norma, Circinus, Libra and Centaurus.
I chose the constellation, Orion. It is one of my favorites, because ever since I was little, I was able to find it, and it was cool to me. The constellation depicts a man, holding his shield in front of hi, and sword overhead. It signifies a hunter, attack his prey, especially since he follows other celestial animals, like Lepus, a rabbit, and Taurus, a bull.
My chosen constellation is Gemini, a constellation of the Zodiac. I chose it because both me and my father, who had an important role in my interest for Astronomy, are Gemini. The constellation of Gemini, which means "twins" in Latin, was discovered by Ptolemy in the second century A.D. and it has 85 stars. The Alpha star is Pollux and the Beta star is Castor, which are the names of the two twin brothers that are associated with Gemini.
The constellation I choose was Leo The lion. I choose Leo because it is my zodiac sign. The constellation Leo is one of the earliest recognizable constellations. The constellation Leo is also best visible during April. Leo is one of the 13 sings of the the zodiac, and is the fifth sign, representing those born around July 22 until around August 22.
My favourite costellation is the Aquarius constellation, which is in the Southern Hemisphere during the spring, while in the Northern Hemisphere during the fall. This is my favourite constellation because to me, it is the most beautiful and is one of the most important backgrounds. In my personal opinion, it also has the most meaning to it. The term Aquarius means "Water Bearer" or "Cup Bearer" in Latin.
I choose Andromeda constellation, that is a constellation placed in the north of the equator, because I really like the name and because I like the mythological background of the story. It’s one of the biggest constellations, with stars like Alpheratz (the brightest star in Andromeda) or Z Andromedae (a start that changes its brightest).
Aquarius is the constellation I have chosen as it is the constellation from my zodiac from my year of birth. It outlines my behaviours, characteristics and fortunes. The Aquarius constellation appears in the sky between December and January. Aquarius is the sign for water bearers as the name Aquarius is Latin for "water carrier". Aquarius is one of the oldest constellations and can be seen in the northern and Southern Hemisphere.
Other than Virgo, the Sagittarius myth is probably the most commonly misinterpreted of all of the constellation myths. Most interpretations conclude that the mythology of Sagittarius refers to the centaur Chiron, who was accidentally shot by Hercules (Greek mythology) with a poison arrow. This story does indeed refer to a constellation myth, but it's actually the myth behind the constellation Centaurus, not Sagittarius. The myth behind Sagittarius actually refers to Crotus, a satyr that lived on Mount Helicon with the Muses.
I chose the constellation Cassiopeia because it is a constellation that I already heard about but I did not know its history. So, it is a constellation, discover by Ptolemy, which are makes up of 5 main stars. These stars have the form of a "W" or a "M" depending of its position.
I chose the constellation Cancer (“The Crab”), because is the constellation that represents my zodiac sing, that is Cancer; this constellation represents the form of a crab, and is because this the name of the constellation means crab in Latin, this constellation is visible on The South Hemisphere on the autumn, and on The Northern Hemisphere on the begin of the spring. That constellation occupies a five hundred six square degrees.
Gemini is the constellation I have chosen to use in my essay. The reason for that is my zodiac sign is Gemini, and it's the constellation I am most familiar with. Gemini is composed of several stars, the most popular being Pollux and Casper, the two 'heads' of the constellation. The greek myth where Gemini is orinated from is of two twin brothers -the stars- Pollux and Casper. The constellation is seen between the constellations, Taurus and Cancer.
The constellation I like best is Gemini. The reason I've chosen it is because I am a twin like the constellation shows. I also like to hunt with bow and arrows, as do Gemini. Gemini's sign is linked with the planet of childhood and youth, Mars. My constellation is also dual-natured and complex, because of Gemini's personality it would be hard for them to make a decision and stick with it. The twins are affectionate, generous, and kind to the suffering. They have energy and money and are like toddlers, the want to be the center of attention and they throw a fit when they don't get What they want.
