The Care Inspectorate are responsible for inspecting different care services to ensure they are meeting the correct standards. While carrying out inspections, inspectors talk to individuals who use the service along with staff. They observe how individuals are looked after to determine whether they are receiving the best quality care. They look at many things including: ● Care and Support ● Environment ● Staffing ● Management and Leadership If a service does not perform well, the Care Inspectorate is on hand to lend support, so the service can improve their standard of care. However, if a service still does not improve, the Care Inspectorate have the power to close the service down permanently.
