Mr. Mendivil was referred to the STAR CAST on January 1, 2018, by SGPRC due to his noncompliance with treatment and medical appointments. He is diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and is prescribed insulin four times a day. Nursing staff from Care Unlimited Home Health come to the house every day to check his blood sugar, check his blood pressure, and administer insulin as ordered. However, Jesus is reported to often refuse to have blood sugar checked and to have insulin shots. This noncompliant behavior to treatment poses a high risk for complications from poorly controlled diabetes. According to direct care staff, Jesus is seen by 2 nurses from the Care Unlimited Home Health around 4 times a day to check his blood sugar, check vital signs, and administer insulin. He is reported to be more compliant with one nurse and always have issues with the other. When asked why he refused his blood sugar check and treatment, he said the treatment was painful. However, through an interview with Ms. Ebony Allen, the administrative assistant, she states that his noncompliance is due to …show more content…
He loves to ear and would often ignore the staffs’ advice or directions to choose healthy food that is appropriate for a carbohydrate-controlled diet. One incident report took place on the morning of February 4, 2018, when staff from the house offered his breakfast but he insisted on cooking his own food. He cooked tortillas mixed with eggs, prompting the staff to encourage him to make healthier meals and substitute tortillas with nonstarchy vegetables and whole grains, but he declined. Then, staff advised him to eat smaller portions, but he also declined the staffs’ advice. He instead ate a large portion during his breakfast. As a result, his blood sugar was elevated to 593 on the finger stick. Furthermore, the police were called and he was admitted into Pomona Valley Emergency Room that day for
Initially we had difficulty obtaining his discharge orders as the hospital care manager replied she had forwarded the documentation, but neither I nor Mrs. Bianco had received a copy. Mrs. Bianco made a visit to Mills Creek and met with Mr. Smith at that time she was made aware of an appointment that Mr. Smith attended. Mr. Smith attended a physician appointment on June 28, 2017 with Dr. Leonard, Orthopedic trauma. Mills Creek assisted with the transportation and a mobile x-ray unit was coordinated to obtain x-rays of the femur at the facility as Mr. Smith didn’t bring his slide board to the appointment and couldn’t get onto the radiology table.
Jesus when he came didn't come to completely destroy the evil of the world. He came to show people how to recognize evil and how to fight it so they could help themselves. This is just like McMurphy who didn't come to the ward to cause an uprising and overthrow Nurse Ratchet. He came to show people that they didn't have to be manipulated and emasculated by Nurse Ratched. He showed them that each one of them has the ability to resist the hold that the Big Nurse had on them. When something went wrong the patients looked to McMurphy for a solution “The guys were already looking down the line to McMurphy stood, a couple of men down the line” (Kesey 228). This clearly shows that people looked to McMurphy for help just like people looked to
When McMurphy shows his provocative and sexual playing cards to the men of the ward, he begins to unmask the importance of sexual expression, allegorical to the word of God or new religion proposed by Jesus. McMurphy also attempts to reveal the damaging effects of Nurse Ratched's mental ward, parallel to Jesus' attempts to bring humanity, "out of the darkness," and, "into the light of the Lord," where one can be eternally saved from original sin. In the first scene, we also meet Ellis, a man who has received numerous treatments at the facility and has become completely docile and, "Now he's nailed against the wall" (20). This image can be associated with the Book of Matthew because it foreshadows the inevitable Christ-like sacrifice that McMurphy makes at the end of the novel. Ellis also acts as the crucified criminals that share in Christ's pain beside him on the cross (Matthew 27). The image of Ellis communicates to the reader the impact and importance of McMurphy as a character of the salvation that he brings to the patients on the ward as the novel continues.
"You're really sick. What are you going to do? There's no Baptist or Methodist Hospital. There are some doctors available, but you're not sure you trust them. You could go down to the temple… and have the priest call on his god to heal you.
Reverend Warren talks about how our bodies are meant for worship. Our bodies are sacred objects and we need to stop belittling ourselves and “instead we must learn the habit of beholding our bodies as a gift” (page 47). We need to care for our bodies because they are a gift from God, and our Father desires us to see ourselves they way He does. During this challenge I want to write truths about Jesus and the body I have been given on sticky notes.
McMurphy arrives to the hospital and immediately changes the vibe of the hospital. He is the first man to have the courage to stand up to the nurse and the first man to even notice the Nurse’s subtle but dangerous tactics. Harding has just been ripped to shreds by his peers in the meeting after the nurse started the “pecking party”. McMurphy is trying to get harding to see the nurse’s twisted ways by saying, “I’m just talking about that crummy meeting and what that nurse and those other bastards did to you. Did in spades”(58). McMurphy arrives on the ward and it does not take long for him to start preaching the message against the nurse’s evil practices. McMurphy is trying to help lead Harding into the light and show him the truth about what the nurse did to him in that meeting by starting a pecking party to attack him and lower his self-esteem. Jesus Christ once said, “I am the way, the truth, the light.” Jesus came to this earth to deliver a message of goodness and steer people clear of the evil happenings of the time. McMurphy has the same goal for his time at the ward, to help his fellow inmates resist the evil of the nurse and stand up for their well being. Along the journey of Christ’s time on this earth, each person he touched was changed and began to see the truth; similarly, McMurphy creates bonds and friendships that help each character grow into being
The Church of Christ, founded by Mary Baker Eddy in 1879, preached that the true practice of Christianity heals sickness; she establishes her views in the book “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures”.
1. Home Healthcare Case: Given what you have learned about the accessibility and financing of home care services, are such services as readily available to other consumers as they were to Joan and Jerry? In this particular case regarding Joan and Jerry, and the availability of home health care services compared to that of others is a quite simple. Lack of knowledge and understanding is of the utmost detrimental in medical terms due to the fact that there are many programs that are available to help those with disabilities or home bound. In this case, perhaps Joan and Jerry 's daughter should have been more involved with the medical needs of both her parents. Especially due to the age of her father who was in desperate attempt to keep his disabled wife comfortable in their home. Home health care services are readily available to covered members of Medicare/Medicaid or other third-party payers. Although in Joan 's later days of life, her medical needs were being attended to by home health care professionals, perhaps her life could have been extended and foreseen medical conditions that could have prevented another stroke. "Being an informal caregiver plays a huge role in providing care and relief to long-term consumers (Pratt, 2010)." If Jerry would have taken advantage of home health care and it 's available services at an earlier stage, then perhaps he would not have to have had a hip replacement by having more rest to take care of himself. "As with other forms of long-term
Brody is a brand new patient. He is an eighteen-year-old male who has an appointment early this afternoon. At first glance it is easy to see that he is overweight. He indicates on his medical history form that he has type 2 diabetes and takes insulin daily, he was diagnosed one year ago in 2014. As Brody is being seated, it is clear he is nervous because of his firm grip on the armrest and anxious laughter. Taking note of the time of the appointment, it’s important to ask if he has skipped any meals so far in the day with his blood sugar being a concern. He states he ate lunch half an hour before the appointment time and also had two breakfast bars and a banana when we woke up. Before performing the oral screening, it’s important to find out what Brody is nervous about. After a few questions about school and his interest in video games and Netflix, he brings up how he used to be in basketball but cannot play anymore due to his weight gain. He mentions that he struggles keeping his A1c number within optimum range and keep track of his blood sugar levels during the school day. His mom constantly bugs him about his sugar levels and asks what he’s eating while playing videogames. Upon further inquiring, he says his last A1c number was an eight. Brody pays special attention to his teeth and is proud of the fact that he has yet to have a cavity, however he does state he is concerned about his gums being red and bleeding more in the last few months than before. Upon initial
Jesus healed hundreds, if not thousands, of people throughout his lifetime. This being said, he would have only been able to tell people the story of him being healed and not the story of him still choosing to believe in Jesus even when he is still broken. If little James continued to have a broken leg while being on his journey to share Jesus’ words, then others would have been able to have hope and believe that even if Jesus is not there to heal them physically, they can still be healed spiritually and mentally if they choose to trust and believe in
“Doctor cure yourself” – here Jesus states that it is doubtless that the people of his hometown of Nazareth will approve of him spreading the word of God throughout other towns. He says that they will quote to him, Doctor cure yourself, by which they would be trying to tell Jesus to bring

He refused to attempt to care for the child 's penis growing up; whenever he bathed him as a young baby or toddler he only washed the external penile shaft. However, his mother pulled back the foreskin and washed his penis during bath time but Al always appeared in pain when the skin was retracted. The mother was uncomfortable with this process but continued to cleanse his penis until he was of age to provide proper care to his own genital. Al was diagnosed with Diabetes at the age of 12. He takes 10 units of Lantus subcutaneous every day at bedtime. He checks his blood sugar every morning when he wakes up for school at 7 am before he eats breakfast. His blood sugar range between 70 and 95 usually. He sometimes forgets to take his blood sugar on the weekend. He notices the last two days his blood sugar was elevated; one day it was 120 and the next day it was 130. He did not have any changes in his eating pattern but he was not alarmed because he felt fine.
Sec. 55 A centurion’s faith and the healing of his servant (Mt 8:5-13; Lk 7:1-10)
‘Health we must have; and health is proportion; so that when a man comes into your room and says he is Christ… …and has a message… …and threatens… …to kill himself, you invoke proportion; order rest in bed; rest in solitude; silence and rest; rest without friends, without books; without messages; six months’ rest…’ (Page 110).
