My goal is to have a career in health care management. While researching careers, I discovered health care management. I choose health care management as my career option for two reasons. I’m looking for a career where I can do what I passionate about and impact lives. These are important factor in my career choice. Health care management met my two requirements and at that point I knew this was the career for me. I firmly believe that any career I pursue should be one that I’m passionate about. One of my passions is helping others. Health care managers help patients just as much as doctors, nurses and other clinical professionals. For me it’s very imperative that I find a career were I would have impact the lives of others. This would ensure that I’m fulfilling one of my purposes in life. I 'm ready to experience the emotional and intellectual rewards my MBA will
In May of this year, I will be graduating with a degree in Healthcare Management. I chose to obtain this degree to begin setting me up for my future endeavors.
Since the inauguration of my health care career at Keck Medicine of USC, I knew there would be no other academic institution that could better prepare me to excel at becoming a leader amongst the health care community. I have inquired with multiple USC hospital employees about the EMHA program, and all have spoken with high regards that USC offers an excellent healthcare administration master’s degree. I hope to be challenged intellectually while developing leadership skills necessary to mature into a successful leader. My work experience has prepared me to undertake the challenges that would be associated with remaining a full time employee at USC while pursuing an Executive Master of Health Administration.
Thus, the most influential reason I am striving to attend University of Michigan is the Health Sciences Scholars Program. This program includes classes that are specific to the health sciences, in comparison to classes at other universities that won’t satisfy my specific interests. The program provides a plethora of community service opportunities that allow students to actually make a difference in the community while also practicing skills needed in the field of health care. As a HSSP student I would be participating in professional observations, where I would be able to work with health care professionals while also being exposed to different careers. Many students aspiring to work in the health care field don’t have the opportunity to work with patients or doctors until they go to medical school, but I could accomplish this through HSSP during my freshman year. I can’t be a superhero without some prior experience after all. In comparison to other residential programs, such as Lyman Briggs at Michigan State, the Health Sciences Scholars Program at University of Michigan would provide me with the most opportunities to grow and pursue my passion for medicine and healing

Healthcare and healthcare planning are vital in today’s ever-changing world, without education and experience one cannot help patients or make policy changes that benefit all stakeholders. In addition, many people do not understand the ever-changing medical policies and treatment options that are available. Therefore, I am compelled to use my knowledge and education to coordinate healthcare needs of the people in my community. Whether this is managing outpatient care, inpatient care needs or healthcare resources. Therefore, the Marylhurst Healthcare MBA program and all three concentrations will enable me to obtain the skills I need to succeed.
The vision that I have for my future and career is a positive one. I started my MBA program at GCU with a positive attitude, determination to stay in the program and complete it successfully. My desire and vision after I complete my program is to take up a new challenge of starting my own small business in the area of non-medical Care Giving Services. This business will give me a great deal of opportunities to utilize all that I’ve learnt throughout my program. Through the small business that I’m looking to set up, I will have the opportunity to offer quality Care Giving Services to clients who have disabilities of one form or another. Not all clients get the quality care that they deserve in the care giving business, so I will focus on rendering loving and compassionate care that will make life easier for our clients. The services rendered and our core values will be in the best interest of the clients.
I always knew that I wanted a career that involved helping others. Throughout the last few years I’ve gained interest in medical field after becoming more conscious of my own health. During my vacation to Belize for a family reunion last year I saw how underdeveloped the medical aid in that country is. I then realized that I could
There are millions of companies and corporations throughout the world and each of them contains working individuals who offer their skills to be apart of that business. Employees who meet certain requirements are hired because they will be able to provide the right skills to fulfill the goals of their employer. Health science major combines bio medical, psychosocial, societal and organizational aspects of health, disease and health care, this enabled me to chose the path of health care management. After taking the health science courses (marketing, health policy, epidemiology, etc.), there was an internship course to be fulfilled. To put what I have learned to the test I began interning at Queens Boulevard Endoscopy Center located at 9525
After my observations, I have learned a lot about how the the medical aspect of the health care system worked. I always had the mindset that the doctors were the ones who ran everything in a hospital or a clinic. Upon observing, I realized that this was false and that it took teamwork, cooperation, and communication to help create an environment to best serve its patients. When I came into the University of Michigan as well as the Health Sciences Scholar Program, I had set my target to go into family medicine in order to pursue a career as a family physician. I also saw that there were many health disparities and inequities among patients in hospitals as well. I thought maybe I could help fix this if I became a physician. After my observations, I had an ambivalent feeling if I should still continue with what my heart was set on. I never really thought about exploring the vast array of other health-related professions. There were many fields of health professions I had really never thought about and this class as well as my observations had really helped open my eyes to the complexity of the health system to make it work.
A career that has interested me for many years is becoming an Office Manager in the company IHA. IHA was formed in 1994 for families around the Washtenaw County area to be provided with professional physician care. I have worked in this company for five years doing reception work within different offices. I have found a passion to become an Office Manager which would require me to have a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and 2-years of experience in management anywhere. Since I have been there for five years I have learned how offices work within this company which I feel will benefit my future. I strive learns as much as I can in this company, so I can have a great deal of knowledge of what my future employees do in their
The youngest in a troubled extended family, I was the first college graduate - with no less than honors. Nevertheless, despite college career officers’ assurances that good grades in my African Studies major would net the beginnings of health care management job offers from which I could afford a Master in Public Health degree, they neither offered career nor employment guidance. Interviews and job offers did not happen. That was the last consequential advice I took without doing extensive research personally.
Career motivation: Graduated from high school, I attended health care- pharmacy. From-time to time while in college, my interest doubled in the field of health. Finally, I graduated in two-year pharmacy degree and joined the workforce immediately. Even though, the workplace is out of the United States, I have gained endless experiences started from small rural health care center to the country’s food medicine and health care regulatory authority for the past ten years. Definitely, that was the place where I understood what health care is, why health care is important, and how health care professions differ from other professions. So the only career which struggle to restore and maintain the healthy lives of living creatures, including the human being is the health care
While gaining valuable work experience, I intend to simultaneously obtain a master’s degree in Public Health. After the completion of my master’s degree, I plan to utilize my master’s degree and work experience concurrently to achieve a managerial position. Subsequently, I aim to complete my academic achievements with a doctoral degree. Eventually, my primary ambition is to withhold the ranking of CEO. My main objective while embarking on the health care administrator journey, will be to impact the lives of patients so that it is not questionable whether their best interest is being considered. This impact will not be done directly or hands on, but rather through the improvement of the health care system as a
