I have developed some very important skills from this course, which I will be able to transfer to my career. These skills are my communication skills and knowledge on technology. My communication skill has improved a lot from this course as a result of interacting with my classmate in discussion threads and peer review. In my career as a human resource manager I will need to be able to communicate efficiently with my coworkers and physicians to resolve issues and sharing ideas.
How do these skills support the development of communication competence, critical thinking, and problem solving? Being able to communicate efficiently will give me the ability to be better at critical thinking and problem solving. Communication is the key and being able to communicate efficiently will allow me to think clearly and realistically. In cases where employees make irrational decisions may result in harming the company and the team. As the world becomes more engrained with technology. The growing threats and security vulnerabilities propose a great concern to keep our digital information private and out of the hands of thieves, hackers, and abusers. According to David Donahoo quoted in the Liberty Journal, “The more information that is available in the cyber world, the larger the pie becomes as far as a cyber criminal is concerned.” (Menard, 2015) In other words, information security is becoming a vital intrinsic absolute when we consider the luxury our technology has brought us on a daily basis.
My career goals for the next five to ten years will consist me becoming a director of hospital department, so envision my future to always moving up the chain of business. Like most business, they have the people at the bottom like a representative for the company, which I am now a patient access representative. I have someone like a supervisor or a lead person over me that make sure me and the other representative’s are doing our job. Then we have a manager that is over the supervisor and us the representative’s. The director is over the supervisors, representative’s and managers. Also A director can be over multiple managers in different departments. Furthermore, in the health-care environment it is like that for director in the hospital.
