The purpose of this paper is to present a career plan using lessons learned on training and career development. It will reveal various skills, training, and recommendations for work-life balances needed to pursue and achieve career objectives. Individual Career Plan When deciding on a career plan, I think it is most important to list the activities that are of interests to do in service of finding a path that suits you best. For the past few years, I have gone back and forth about what I wanted to do. There were several fields that were of interest to me but didn’t want to just settle for anything so I had to make a choice and determine what I thought was the best fit. Although I have adapted well to several different jobs, at this point in my life, I am in a place where I am able to pursue my ultimate career goals. Technology and assisting others learn intrigues me, motivates me, and I am starting to believe that this current course is helping me gain a better understanding of what’s to come. I believe the information acquired, discussions, my related experience, and scenarios are indeed essential to my career progression. My short term goal is to obtain my Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management within the next year and my long term goal of becoming a Training and Development Manager and/or Information Management and Systems Professional and also obtaining the required certifications and training needed to excel in the field.
