What if your best friend went on an adventure. They had everything they had ever wanted. They didn't tell you or their family where they were going or how long they would be gone. They just picked up and left. Would you respect their decision to not tell anyone their plans? Would you think that this was a good idea of theirs, or would you think that this was a stupid decision on their part? Well this is what Christopher McCandless did. In 1968 McCandless was born. He was born to a good, wealthy, and happy family. He had everything any child could ever wish for. He was smart, athletic, and had a good education. In June 1990 he completed collage. In July of 1990 Christopher McCandless left his family and almost all belongings, and didn't tell anyone where he was going, or how long he'd be gone. Three years later McCandless was found dead in a blue bus located in Alaska. He had died of starvation. He went off and, ¨lived his life.¨ McCandless went out and lived in the wild. Mr. Sanford took a walk outside to fine his dog. His dawg had been lost for many dayz. He defiantly new that the dog would come home soon. The dog only ate from a particular dish and would be starving by now. Mr. Sanford was a little consernd and confusd that his dag was still missing. As Mr. Sanford took a peak around the turn, he saw his little dog wagging his tail merely as he dug through the neighburs trash. It seems his little dog will eat out of the tras as quickly as he wood out of his own bowl.

The coming age of African Americans rights to vote was a remarkable time in history. This life-changing experience set new boundaries for the welfare of minorities in the United States. African Americans would be able to cast their votes on governmental issues, without becoming afraid of the harmful acts they may have to face.

When the coroner snapped his notebook shut and told Gavin Arneson that his father was dead, the teenager's tenuous family life took one more erratic twist. Arneson, who had just turned 18, was facing a shaky adulthood and another stint of homelessness.

When you see yourself living out your dream, the thought of what you're most passionate about pulls you in. Passions in one's life change based on what had affected that person. Dreams are defined to change. However, the benefits of these thoughts is that they belong to you and only you. Not one person's opinions matter but your own. Chris McCandless simply was living out his own ideal life, the way he wanted; not to the idea of his parents, his friends or of society. McCandless wanted to escape society and civilization which he felt was tying him down, while also trying to discover himself. McCandless is not by any means a wacko. He was simply defying society and its ideal expectation it holds upon us as a whole.

In March 1857, one of the most controversial events preceding the Civil War occurred. Dred Scott, and his wife had once belonged to army surgeon John Emerson, who bought him from the Peter Blow family of St. Louis. After Emerson died, the Blows apparently helped Scott sue Emerson’s widow for his freedom, but lost the case in state court. Which was because Mrs. Emerson left him with her brother John Sanford. Whose name was misspelled in court papers. He was a New York citizen. Scott sued again in federal court, claiming Missouri citizenship. Scott’s lawyers eventually appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

I must admit, I was not 100% covirenced that Mr Hochswender’s essay was persuasive. By definition, a persuasive essay is one in which you attempt to get the reader to agree with your point of view by presenting arguments, research, and ideas to sway the reader. In my opinion, Mr. Hochswender is defending his reason for driving an SUV, not persuading the audience to purchase one. I noticed in your post that you felt redeemed by this essay for your SUV. Dysfunctional Families The novel Into the Wild is a true story about Christopher McCandless narrated by the author Jon Krakauer. Krakauer focuses on revealing the journey taken by Christopher McCandless, but more importantly the development of McCandless’ psychological behavior. After finishing high school, McCandless single-handedly takes a road trip alone, where he discovers that his father has a second family. Keeping this secret away from Chris only angered him as he felt remarkably betrayed from his father.

The most influential person in an individual life happens to be the parents. Parents teach their children expected behavior, boundaries, and rules. Although, children are always more attentive to their parent’s behavior; something parents quite often do not realize. If the parents walk does not match their talk their; kids will not take in consideration what they have been taught. Kids always have that mentality of “if you did it, I will do it too because it is okay.” Children learn more from their parents character than their teachings; demonstrating that actions speak louder than words. Clearly, what individuals are exposed in their adolescents shapes their mentality affecting how they perceive situations and people. A lot of things

Often times, children of permissive parents are manipulative. This is because the parents submit to their children if they act out. Children of permissive parents are impulsive, the children do not learn how to control themselves. Children brought up by this parenting style “do slightly worse in school during adolescence and are more likely to be aggressive and somewhat immature in their behavior with peers and in school”

But as soon as children start feeling that their parents care too much, they try to get back at them and do just what their parents don't want them to do. On the other hand kids who face lack of freedom may end up turning into introverts afraid to speak to other people or not as social (which is not a bad thing though).
