According to Metro.us, the Los Angeles Lakers are just one superstar away from having a great season and trading for Carmelo Anthony could be a viable option for them. Surely, Melo will bring in his vast experience being in the league for 13 years that could also help guide the young players for the Lakers. Aside from experience, his production of 22.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.1 assists will surely boost their offense. But who will they offer as trade pieces for Melo? According to CBSSports, the Los Angeles Lakers could throw in a package of guard Jordan Clarkson, guard Lou Williams and forward Luol Deng as trade offers to the New York Knicks for Carmelo Anthony. This is not bad for a return for the Knicks acquiring one young and two veteran players that are solid contributors. However, having this trade won't mean that the Lakers is assured of a postseason appearance rather it only give them a better chance of competing for that position. Meanwhile, the Knicks might ask for more for Anthony, maybe a future draft pick, unless the Lakers don't have much in terms of draft picks. Would the Los Angeles Lakers be the best trade destination for New York Knicks superstar Carmelo
Arn Tellem, Kobe's agent at the time said, it's an impossibility, however Bill Branch, the Hornets head coach said that the Hornets agreed to trade Kobe to the LA Lakers and the teams agreed to trade the day before. Prior to the draft, Kobe had worked out in Los Angeles, where the man himself scrimmaged against former basketball players Larry Drew and Michael Cooper. At the time of his career, Kobe was the youngest to play in a NBA game, he scored 36 points a game and averages of 24.5 points and 5.3 rebounds in his first four games. In 2004 Kobe and his new and improved team, were able to reach the NBA Finals, however they became runners up and came up short. In the 2004 finals Kobe averaged 22.6 per game and 4.4 assists and that's when O’Neal was traded to the Miami Heat, after the sad lost. Although things didn't go their way, Kobe thought of the experience he had and the benefits of playing National
According to Blasting News, even if the Warriors are off to a good start, there's a notion that they will make a shakeup of their roster before the February trade deadline and a possible trade deal with Heat might happen soon.
It’s clear that the Sacramento Kings are in a transformative stage. This offseason, they have added eight free agents as well as signing two draft picks, including the lengthy defensive stopper, Willie Cauley-Stein. They traded away power forward Jason Thompson and fan favorite Nik “Sauce Castillo” Stauskas to the Philadelphia 76ers to accommodate their plethora of new talent.
It does not come as a surprise to see the Sixers pick up both players’ fourth-year options. They both played an integral role in helping the team win basketball games over the years and ultimately making the NBA playoffs this season.
The Lakers also signed free-agent Shaquille O’Neal from the Orlando Magic. Shaquille O’Neal lead the Lakers to a record of 56-26, averaging 26.2 ppg and 12.5 rpg. Before the 1999-2000 season the Lakers hired former Chicago Bulls coach Phil Jackson, who brought the infamous triangle offense to L.A. On the separate report by Sportsrageous, rumors are suggesting that the Blazers could also send guard C.J. McCollum to the Kings in exchange for Cousins. The (0-3) Los Angeles Lakers are back in downtown Los Angeles, at the Staples Center, to battle the (1-2) Denver Nuggets. The Lakers are facing the unenviable task of changing the narrative and after three straight losses, attempting to remove the stench that is emanating from their defense.
I mean you’ll have Magic, who is a pass first point guard, dishing out to the likes of Kobe, Shaq, West, and Kareem on top of keeping defenders on their heels. Bulls would have to really figure out how to slow that down and I don’t think Rose is the guy to really do that. I do believe the Bulls have an advantage at the Small Forward and Shooting Guard position. Yes Laker fans I would have to give the edge to Pippen over Jerry West seeing Scottie was a lot more athletic and was pretty good defensive player, while Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are about equal. They’re very identical when you look at them on film but I give the slightest of slight edge to Jordan on this one. The huge disadvantage comes in the post where you have Kareem and Shaq for the Lakers and Horace Grant and Dennis Rodman for the Bulls. Now offensively realistically the Lakers would have an issue because A: Both Kareem and Shaq are centers and B: Both will clog up likely clog up the post, but even with that Kareem and Shaq too much for Grant and Rodman. Rodman would do whatever to grab rebounds and was a pretty good defensive player while Grant was a solid starter on some pretty good teams but when you’re talking Kareem and Shaq, that’s a tall task for the two offensively and defensively. The bench is also a huge advantage for the Lakers where it’s
What NBA teams want is a player who is clutch and can win basketball games. That statement defines Lonzo Ball perfectly, as he makes everyone who plays with him better. For the Los Angeles Lakers, this off-season may have been a bit underwhelming, but they still brought in quality free agents. After "missing out," on LeMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love and DeAndre Jordan, the Lakers were forced to look into the second tier talents. According to some reports, the meetings the Lakers executives held with the big name free agents focused little on basketball, and instead focusing more on the "Hollywood Lifestyle."
NBA article NBA fans still shocked about Kevin Durant leaving Oklahoma City and how much hate he is getting from all his fans and the community of NBA basketball. LeBrone James still thinks Cleveland cavaliers should trade more players even when they recently had Kyle Korver. LeBrone also thinks he can keep functioning Cleveland without Kevin Love on the team. We the community do not like the way NBA players move teams and leaving their old team into the dust. One big trade that really helped the Memphis Grizzlies was when the acquired Pau Gasol’s draft rights from the Atlanta Hawks. Gasol went on to play six and a half season with the Grizzlies, scoring over 17 points per game in each season. He also made the All-Star team, and led Memphis to a pair of playoff berths. Many teams look for these types of draft-day trades to improve their squad for the next season.
Many NBA fans assume the Lakers will select UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball with the second overall pick. From the gecko, Lonzo Ball’s camp made it clear that they wanted Lonzo to play for the Lakers. The night the Lakers were revealed to have the second pick, Lonzo and his team (his father and brothers) were shown pumping their fists, as if they had just been drafted. Although many have slotted Lonzo in as the number two overall pick there are an abundance of reasons the Lakers should pass on Ball in favor of Jayson Tatum, Malik Monk, De’Aaron Fox, or Josh Jackson.
The NBA’s Hang Time Blog indicated that there is mutual interest between Wade and the Lakers to make this deal happen. An ongoing contract disagreement is said to be what would push the three-time champion to jump ship to Los Angeles.
