The first time I went on a cruise I got on a airplane and went to Puerto Rico. When my family got off we went to find our luggage, and get a taxi to the hotel. When we got to the hotel, we checked into our room and unpacked our luggage. We stayed at the hotel for three days and went to the pool, beach, and explored the island.

The criteria I have chosen for choosing a weekend cruise to The Bahamas suggest that I should depart from Miami following the weekend starting Friday December 5 to Sunday December 9, in a cruise ship capable of accommodating a minimum of 1500 passenger with a max of 2000 passengers. The day has finally come to go on vacation. My family and I departed promptly from our house at 4:30 in the morning. Our flight was scheduled for 7 in the morning at Pittsburgh International Airport. We had to arrive their early because all people flying international had to be their two hours before the flight would leave. We boarded the flight out to Punta Cana, which is located in the Dominican Republic. I can remember that I was so excited to go, that I was the first on the flight. If you happen to be in Alabama, on of the interesting stops is the Mobile Carnival Museum, the only museum of its kind, found in the historic Bernstein-Bush mansion on Government Street. The museum features mainly different displays of gowns, jewels, and trains worn by the Carnival queens in its local celebration, showing the evolution of what it was in the earlier times, to what it is today. Displayed are attires also of jesters who are known to accompany the queen during the Carnival. Novelty items such as posters, tableau designs, and ball invitations are also found in the museum. I have a deep ambition to induce positive change in my life and the lives of others. I have had many Officers over my naval career, and the ones that have made the largest impact on my personal and professional life have been Mustangs. It would be an honor to be able to make the same kind of change on my future Sailors. I am a deeply driven and conscientious Sailor whose motivation does not stop and start at the office door. I believe that the Navy could greatly benefit by allowing me to join the Officer ranks. I know the right balance between getting the job done, and when to help your Sailor. My goals in life are to be able to provide for my family. I have a mission in life for self-improvement, and I believe that is never done. I will be finishing my Bachelor's Degree and will move on to my Master's Degree shortly after. A personal goal would be to raise my daughter to be the best person, and instill the same morals and work ethic that I have in her. After I retire from the Navy, I want to open a non-profit organization that helps people and animals in need. I want to be able to give back to a world where some are less fortunate than me.

The Elmore family boarded their plane on May 18, 2015 to head to California for their cruise to Mazatlan. Once they arrived to California, Gavan's dad went to go rent a car so they could travel to the boat docks where the cruise is docked. His dad left, leaving his wife, his oldest son, and Gavan behind in the super hot weather. When his dad finally arrived with the car, the Elmore’s hit the open road to the boat docks. They arrived at the docks and gave their luggage to a man who brought it on the boat. Meanwhile the Elmore’s had to wait in a line to get registered for about an hour and half. When they all got to the front they registered and went on the boat.

The industry that was intriguing to me, and where I decided to focus my research on is the travel and cruise ship industry. The cruise industry is associated with the travel and leisure industry. In the last few years the cruise industry has grown steam, and has become a great way for vacationers to travel. Spending grew over the years from 9.4 billion to 14.7 billion starting in 2000 continuing today. The cruise industry has been able to provide countless jobs to many different people during the last few years due to its growth.

Carnival Cruise Lines is one of the most successful cruise lines in the world. They have taken an industry that once only catered to the elite and turned it into a possibility for people of varying economic means all over the world. In their quest to provide a service with mass appeal, Carnival has become the very definition of international business.

The night before we began our journey to Orlando, I didn’t get much sleep. My eyes were wide open like an owl most of the night, tossing and turning under my cloudy soft comforter thinking about what awaited me the next 24 hours.
