Title: Carrie, the title does not say much about the book for me, but it does fit the book. Author: The author is Stephen King, I have read and watched many stories and films by him. Genre: The genre of this book is horror, fiction. This book is for those who like to read scary, sad, and bloody stories. I like to read scary books. Characters: the main characters are Carrie, Sue Snell, Chris Hargensen, Tommy, and Margaret. Carrie kills most of the town and commits basically suicide. Sue Snell survived and just been that nice person. Chris Hargensen I did not like her, she was the cause of this, and she gets killed by Carrie. And Tommy died trying to do something nice, by accident. And Margaret is the mother who gets killed by Carrie. I do not like hardly any of the characters mainly because there parts did not amuse me. There were good and bad characters. …show more content…
This girl Carrie was bullied and she discovered a power she did not even know she had. Carrie uses her power against the ones who bullied her and even innocent people. I learned to be kind to all people, because one day you may push a button where the victim loses it. They then kill you and them self. Stephen displays this main idea really well in this book. He takes it to a whole other level, a level where killing is possible with a girls mind. My Evaluation: In the book, I liked how well the scene where Tommy died. It shocked me and how unexpected his death was. This work is quiet similar to his other works. Stephen always uses a twist plot in his stories. The major theme introduced is at the wrong place at the wrong time. Also, bulling is wrong. I think they are very effective in passing a message over to the reader. This book is a scary theme and it puts a point to it in a scary way. This book appeals to me in an emotional way. It has an emotional effect on most people who have read this
Characters: Stevie and Susan Carol are the two main characters of the book. It also had many minor characters.
The characters are Tad, Piper, her brother Creeper, and two local guides. Piper is on a quest of finding a flower to her sister Grace. She’s desperate, hopeful, and proud. This takes place in the present day at the Okefenokee swamp where they’re looking for the rare flower.
I readed the most touching book named “Where The Red Fern Grows” by an author that I really like named Wilson Rawls. The way the book was real touching was the way how the author shows the love between a boy and his dogs. Like the way the boy will help his dogs get better when they are hurt and how the boy was protect his dog through anything. I thank Wilson Rawls was trying to show the way that people while do for the thing that they hold the closes to them like the way it is shown in the book “Where The Red Fern Grows”.
There are many instances throughout the book where good people turned bad. The first example is when
As a reader my reaction to the author was really inspiring because even thought he had a hard childhood, he kept his head up and kept doing what he had to do to successes and make his mother happy. Also the way
Some runners fear the possibility of injuries such as shin splints, twisted ankle, etc. But imagine running a 5k with these injuries- along with cerebral palsy. Renowned sports writer Rick Reilly captures the moment Hanna High junior Ben Comen, who’s body is wrecked by cerebral palsy, crosses the finish line of his cross country race in the piece ”Worth the Wait”, written in 2003. Flagged by his teammates opponents, and even the girl’s team Ben tumbles in a last ditch effort across the line to the screams of the crowd. It’s near impossible to imagine what it’s like to not control your body for such a long distance, enduring the adversity along the way, but Reilly pushes the reader to run alongside Ben throughout the story. He paints an image
In A Good Man Is Hard to Find a family is just going on vacation to Florida to have a great time and a fellow that calls himself The Misfit comes and kills them after they flipped their car. In Good Country People a girl named Joy who was a large blonde girl who had an artificial leg and highly educated was treated horrible. A man that went by the name Manley Pointer seduced Joy and ended up taking her artificial leg. He also got a woman’s glass eye this way. In Everything That Rises Must Converge Julian treated his mother horrible, he had an evil urge to break her spirit by leaving her to talk to the black people.
The book is very well written and was very surprising at parts. The book has lessons in it don’t go where your parents tell you not to go. When you are under investigation for a very serious crime you should not get to even more trouble. Surprising moments made the book good. The most surprising moment was when Buck and tunes who are the main characters almost get shot by a old man named Jumbo.
The emotional appeal that he creates is by showing why he believes that even though country is lost it can still be found deep within someone’s heart. Both authors appealed emotionally to the reader so that they can honestly have access to the author’s true
exciting retelling of the boy’s actions and stories and as well a very good book. Hoose’s use of
Many people often meet different characters in literature and in life that they admire or despise. They conclude if those characters are good or evil and at the same time they reflect on the choices and responsibilities that those characters have. From The Chocolate War I admire Roland Goubert or The Goober based on his actions. I despise Archie Costello (The Assigner of The Vigils) because of the choices that he made and also because of his actions.
The piece was written in a way that makes the reader have an emotional response to the topic, as
The most significant part of the entire text is that most of the readers will never feel the pain of author. The ability not to be able to relate and understand someone’s struggle is very impactful.
