CitySmart is governed and managed by CitySmart Pty Ltd Board of Directors who meet every six weeks and is responsible for the overall governance of the company and the delivery of the project within the company. The governance structure and roles are shown and discussed below.

7.1.1 Project Steering Committee
A Project Steering Committee is the key body within the governance structure responsible for the strategic issues associated with the project, that are essential to ensuring the delivery of the project outputs and the attainment of project outcomes. The committee directs attention at the strategic level.
The Project Steering responsibilities are:
• providing strategic oversight of the project through its life cycle, from initiation to closure;
• providing oversight, scrutiny and challenging the project team which may result in: o increased understanding and transparency of risks and benefits of the project; o increased likelihood of successfully executing the project;
• providing strategic contributions to the assessments of measurable benefits;
• providing key decisions associated with strategic risks or issues;
• maintaining the agreement and relationship between the consortium parties;
• promotion of the LIEEP project where relevant;
• track project progress to ensure it is within the agreed scope and will deliver the required outcomes and benefits;
• advise and support the project management team to meet project delivery milestones; and
• assurance
