Fill a hole –create a hole,” Bill said, chuckling at his delivery of the new line he stole from Dad. As their conversation turned to the finer pits of football, Bill’s wife, Sherrill, appeared and changed the subject to California. She explained that she became a real estate agent to be mobile. The Publicans moved from Texas to Poway a year ago. They lived a few houses up the street. Mom invited them to the party because she thought it was about time Dad and she became acquainted with their new neighbors.
Sherrill entered the conversation by stating her dislike for family owned stores. They were okay, but a corporate store sold products at a cheaper price. A discussion started from her statement, “I’m still having trouble adjusting to all the

Mrs. Tiffany Howell advised that she was at the store with her two sons. Ms. Tiffany Howell stated that, Mr. Dalton Howell and Mr. Andrew Howell had gotten into a fight. Mrs. Tiffany Howell advised that, Mr. Dalton Howell had been getting in trouble, a lot lately. Mr. Dalton has not been listening to, Ms. Tiffany Howell, or her husband, Mr. Marvin Howell. Mr. Dalton Howell has also not been following orders lately.
Alex starts off the meeting with just checking in on Melinda on how she is doing and what’s new with her. Alex then quickly states that her sales numbers are down by 40 percent in one of her South American quarters. She then says the reason for that is that in this business it’s tough for a female to get business and that being a single woman trying to maintain different headquarters by herself is tough. Melinda also brings up that her performance on the job has not been bad and that she is still getting the work done. So she said that she could get the sales back up, but she would need an assistant for help like all the other salespersons have. Her main point is that she is the only one who can get the job done because she relates to the South American market because she is a bilingual South American woman. Another point she is making is that she does not get enough credit in her opinion, she states that for being the top 5 out of 100 salesperson in the company she is facing too many challenges.
“Let’s talk about my services if you chose to hire me. Please understand it is going to be expensive, I will do everything possible to keep your wife from going to prison. According to Richard, the State has a mountain of evidence against her. It will be a long shot to help her,” Matthew said drinking his coffee while waiting for Jerry to say sometime, which he remained quiet.
“It was Christmas Eve, and Kara was walking through the store with her mom as they finished the last of their Christmas shopping. All around them, people grumbled about having to stand in long lines and paying too much for their purchases. But not Kara, she was happy to be there.”
Jim knows that he needs to appear keen to do the deal, but not desperate. He apologizes for coming across somewhat aggressively and takes time to clarify to Ann that he is a new salesperson at Helios and that Sunrise will be his first major account. Further he goes on to let her know that should Sunrise decide to go with him, he will make the account a personally priority.
“Don’t forget you guys have about 6 hours here then meet me by the theater parking lot at 8:30. So have fun and watch out for weirdos because you guys heard about what happened last year at the fair. Just be careful.” Lisa’s mom said, “Don’t do anything stupid,” she said as she began to drive off. After that Becky and Lisa went to go purchase their tickets for the fair. They began to get very excited as they were walking closer and closer to the big rides, amazing smells of burritos and pizza, and people screaming of joy.
"Morning, Sunshine," he said, speaking loud enough to cause her to jerk awake. Bewildered, she glanced around before focusing on him, then narrowed her eyes. He prepared himself for an aural diatribe while summing up why he stayed with her. They argued a lot. More like she carried on about ways he disappointed her without giving him the chance to defend himself or even counter her statements. She could be extremely loquacious when she tried.
“You want the usual, right?” She gave him the go and he signaled to give him a minute. She thought it was sad that he still felt like he needed to test her by leaving her with his cash register unattended, just to see if she’ll betray him on not; which was unneeded after four years of dealing with her. She still waited patiently even though she didn’t have any more patiences left to waste freely.
“Ok it’s in the back let me go get it” she walked away towards the back of the shop. While she was gone I looked around the shop. Books that haven’t been dusted in centuries filled the dark wood shelves. A chandelier covered in dust and cobwebs hung from the ceiling. Gross I thought, don’t they know how to clean here. In the midst of my thinking the lady returned with the book. “$15.23 please” she said. I handed her a $20 and then received the change. “Have a good day dear” she said.
Let me check our records.” She placed the phone on the table next to the laptop and as the inventory screen opened, her stomach muscles tightened bit by bit. Seller’s remorse represented an undesirable side of the business. Certain heirlooms were too precious to part with, and now and then, the previous owner realized it too late.
She had asked people about changes to buy a tampon, but everybody had just left, expect Laylor. Laylor is very helpful and take all the money she has and hands them against the main character. Instead of thanking Laylor, complains she about that Laylor only got changes and it is hard to exchange. It shows a lot of which type of person the main character is. Later when Laylor and the main character has talked, she is selfish again. Laylor had told what kind of problem she has and how hard she has it, but the main character don’t care and just thinks about what there is easiest for herself. This attitude is distinct on page 3 ll. 102-107.
The week and a half I had to mull my decision over, led into a much lighter conversation with Mary. That day I made sure to be a good 15 minutes early. Waves of ease went through my body as I walked back into our claustrophobic break room. I called her over to talk. Squeaking of her computer chair echoed through the room. She stood and walked over to me, promptly pulling out a seat for herself. “What did you want to talk about Elizabeth?” she inquired.
“Sure! Just let me get my stuff, and we’ll head over to the cafeteria.”, Lucy replied enthusiastically. Lunch was her least and favorite period at the same time. It was mostly her favored period because she saw Julia, Jackie, and him, but then there were the whispers they usually didn’t get to her, but when they did he would be there to help Lucy ignore the talking that was about her. That he was George, he was the only person other than Jackie and Julia that was nice and friends with her. Lucy wanted to confess to him that she had liked him for a while now, but her friends were in the way. They had also adored George, and she understood if he liked one of them back they were gorgeous compared to her. I mean Jackie and her straight black hair almost like obsidian, Julia had flame-like hair to match her crystal blue eyes, and Lucy was another average girl with blond hair and brown eyes. She had to
Glancing down at the floor a moment then back to him, "Are you staying long?" She remembered a little from when she had seen him at the store, "I mean, I know it’s none of my business, but... I know you're not from around here. A big city? Have you been to many places?" Her voice carried an edge of excitement to it. She noticed that there weren't that many people left and those that had remained were staring hard in her direction. Lillian shuffled from one foot to the other and was about to say something more when Millie and her husband appeared. She gave Lillian a quick hug then said,
