If MCI wants to issue $500 million of 20-year subordinated debentures, we first calculate the interest payment, which is $62.5. The total interest payment would be $116.6 by adding up the previous net interest, so we can calculate the interest coverage ratio by dividing the operating income in 1983 by the total interest payment, which is 2.53. Then we look up the

Riverview Regional Medical Center is located in Etowah County, Alabama in the city of Gadsden and is a 281-bed healthcare facility that has been open for care since the early 1930s. As of 2000, nearly 39,000 individuals resided within the city. In 2004, the Riverview Regional Medical Center executive director, Matt Hayes, evaluated the 2004 performance indicators for the facility. While the numbers were studied, several key elements and decisions stood out as playing a significant factor in the 2004 profile. Many have predicted there has been a shift from solo practices to a more integrated, comprehensive system that would provide patients with a single medical bill as well as create an alliance that was between the healthcare provider’s services and hospital practices while reducing the costs for the parties involved (Richardson & Slovensky, 2008). The merger in care has penetrated throughout the southern states in such areas as Florida, Georgia and Alabama. Matt Hayes is in need for a new strategic strategy for Riverview Regional Medical Center to continue the growth it experienced in years past.

MMCC, a Medicaid managed care organization, is located in the low-income community of Baltimore City. It is positioned across from a major medical center that does not provide its services. MMCC seeks to reduce their medical loss ratio (MLRs). As part of their strategy, they enroll poor people of the community through incentives, utilize a distant medical center to provide their services, and cut back on administrative requirements. To get communities members to enroll, they offer turkeys to enrollees during holiday times. They fail to inform members that they must use the medical center across the city and not the one directly across from their location. Once a member of MMCC, the patients experience poor quality care. Operators are limited and cannot keep up with calls to make appointments. Health care delivery site’s parking lot has limited parking spaces. The waiting room has limited seating. The actions of MMCC are legally and ethically questionable.

Week 4 will bring us a Thursday Night Football game between AFC North rivals the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Ravens have got off to a rocky start so far in 2015 with a 0-3 record, however, they’ll look to take advantage of a short-handed Steelers squad. Pittsburgh has had a solid start to their season, but they’ll be playing without longtime field general Ben Roethlisberger. This will be a pivotal game for Joe Flacco and the Ravens, so there should be some decent fantasy numbers coming from Baltimore.

The external stakeholders are the community, patients, MedKey System members, CMS, HMOs (ie. Blue Cross Blue Shield and Tri-Care), and any other private insurances (Richards & Slovensky, 2004). Medicare reimbursement in Alabama was the lowest rate in the nation. This was a constant struggle for the hospital administrators to try to operate on such low reimbursements for their services, which is a threat. Eighty percent of patients were Medicare or Blue Cross in which there was difficulty-negotiating prices with Blue Cross due to monopoly. Buyers have high bargaining power as reimbursements rates are low from Medicare and Blue Cross held monopoly in the services area so negotiating prices was difficult. Suppliers have lower bargaining power due to low Medicare reimbursements and difficulty negotiating prices with Blue
Although Riverview Regional Medical Center faces numerous problems, it also has some strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. RRMC Emergency and Cardiac Care departments are their strengths as they have been improved with new equipment to provide quality care to patients. The hospital should use marketing strategies to advertise their competitive quality care throughout the area and in other towns. Additionally, RRMC’s cardiovascular surgery program was rated number 1 in Alabama by HealthGrades.com website. Also, their orthopedics and stroke programs are well recognized. With modern facility and newer technology, RRMC has the capacity to grow.

Injuries play a big role in an athlete's career and his or her overall health, although minor injuries are often nothing to worry about they can lead to something serious especially if the injury is repeatedly being aggravated. scrapes, cuts, bruises, and broken bones are all things to worry about.
