Memorandum To: Mario DiPonetti, ASIB From: Date: ------------------------------------------------- Re: Google Scholar Submitting Abstracts to Google Scholar Confidential Google Scholar requires some strict guidelines for inclusion. ASIB will need to ensure all documents are formatted correctly on their website to be considered for inclusion on Google Scholar. I have outlined some of the requirements below. For more detailed information on specific requirements, visit Google Scholars website at http://www.google.com/intl/en/scholar/inclusion.html#overview. Guidelines 1. Visitors (or search robots) must be able to freely view abstracts without the need to sign in, install software, accept disclaimers, dismiss popup …show more content…
ASIB must place each abstract in a separate HTML or PDF file. In addition, a minimum of three meta tags (title of the article, full name of at least the first author, and the year of the publication) must be included on HTML documents. For PDF documents, abstracts must be laid out according to Google’s standards which can be found at http://www.google.com/intl/en/scholar/inclusion.html#indexing. After all requirements are met, ASIB can submit their website to Google Scholar at: https://support.google.com/scholar/troubleshooter/2898950?rd=1 ASIB must weigh the high cost of creating the content in-house per Google Scholar’s strict specifications against the ease of having EBSCO provide the technical expertise. ASIB will incur the costs of additional “experienced” staff and equipment, as well as overhead if they decide to do take on this large task in-house. However, I feel the potentially high revenues could be significant. Association for the Study of International Business (ASIB) Online Revenue Models Internet Commerce Chapter 3, Case 2 This report covers recommended online revenue models for ASIB’s journals, “Annals of International Business” and “International Business Today.” ASIB’s current net profit for both journals is $14,400 per year. My revenue model recommendations would amount to a profit of $185,200 per year. This analysis will provide ASIB’s board members
It is important to use the GCU library vs. internet search because using the GCU library you have access to over 46,000 full-text journal titles covering every major academic subject, and also receiving quality academic content. Using general internet search, publishers may want you to pay for the access of full-text content. Using scholarly, peer-reviewed resources will attribute to the overall quality of my course work. Being that information is everywhere on the internet you want to evaluate the accuracy and the reliability of the resources. It would be my job to research and evalutate all internet searches in a proper

Many of the studies I am looking at are accessible through universities’ library and Google scholar. Although for some of the studies, I need to have access to a student number for the universities’ resources or pay for the material, it is still accessible publicly. I can be confident that the
I used these databases in order to find a higher valued scholarly article with academic merit. I used the same key terms from my previous article search in the online database at the library.
In seeking, identifying, reading, analyzing, and synthesizing the various academic resources and journal articles Argosy University online library databases was the most for research. ProQuest Digital Thesis and Dissertation database identified topics that reflected the research topic. Key words worked well in navigating through large amount of data and the ProQuest Boolean connector narrowed the research data, so selected topics and articles were
Type your abstract here. Notice that the abstract is not indented. The abstract is 50 to 250 words and summarizes the main ideas in your paper. Do not use “I” or “we” in your abstract.
An abstract is not needed for student submitted papers (APA, 2001 [1.07]). Abstracts are only required when the paper is being submitted for publication to a journal that requires APA style. Theses and dissertations generally also require abstracts. An abstract is an author’s suggestion to the publisher
For this reason, the scholarly databases are available only through a library which deals specifically with published information identified by reliable sources. Subsequently, articles, journals or books are organized and indexed with the extensive search ability including author, title or subject. Important to realize the fact that sites ".gov" and ".edu" may be trusted if the publisher is the educational institution (Finding and Evaluating Online Resources,2014).

Hartley (1999) discusses structured abstracts in comparison to traditional ones. The analysis shows that the structured abstracts were significantly more readable, longer, and more informative than the traditional ones. Moreover, the contents of the structured abstracts are more quickly and with less difficulty than the traditional ones.
The research productivity of all institutions is predicted to improve with increased access to international databases and full text resources.
These are all written by experts in the field (in this case privacy and security on the internet). All of the articles on the Ebscohost database had citations, authors, sources, subject terms and document types. The search engine Google didn’t provide any of these most helpful resources, which could have made my reading seem worthy. I also found myself losing articles from the search engine. I would use the search engine for articles on privacy and security on the internet, exit out of the internet to go run an errand, and then return to the same search. When I returned I found it hard to find the same article. With the database I could easily reference back to the exact search/article. I believe that this is because anyone can write articles found in search engines, for any reason. This is not the same for a database because the articles are being reviewed and updated
Google Scholar is actually a very plain and simple website. The background for the entire page is white. Across the top of the page is a black banner.
