The purpose of this assignment is to review the case study of the therapeutic session of Dr Carl Rogers and his client, Gloria. I will give a brief account of the presenting problem and some theory of Person Centred Therapy to enable me to observe and analyse the techniques used as a strategy to self actualisation. Using transcripts, I will identify some of these skills and observe how effective they were by observing Gloria. I will discuss my opinion of the counselling session and evaluate Dr Rogers’ strengths and weaknesses. In closing I will provide my thoughts as to how he could have improved the therapy.

Marsha Helton as current Co-chair has accepted the position of the Chair position. Clevette received a couple of nominations for the open positions. Nominations were for Kris Dodson for Co-chair and Tracey Feltner as secretary. Kris graciously accepted the Co-Chair position fulfilling the NQC charter and guidelines of having a direct care nurse as either Chair or Co-chair position. Secretary position was not voted on at this time.
Linda explained she had several visits to a psychiatric treatment center. The youth stated she lost count of the number of visits. Most visits because she threatens self-harm. She did have a past problem of cutting her forearms.
Drug abuse is thought to be a multidetermined, maladaptive way of coping with life problems that often become habitual and leads to a progressive deterioration in life circumstances. Drug abuse is a disease in its own way. It’s damaging, mentally, physically and emotionally with each party involved. When it comes to each party involved that also means family members as well. Youth will find a way to but some sort of blame of the family for their drug addiction. Family members can be a crucial part or a great aspect of the therapy depending the situation or how important that family member plays a role in their life. Family plays an important role in our emotional development since each individual in the family system impacts and its impacted by the others. Patient stated: "I don't care about my life, I can die and it would not matter to me." Patient becomes tearful and expresses when she was cutting her wrist she didn't die. LEO brought patient into the ED from DayMark recovery services under IVC. At the time of assessment, patient endorses feeling suicidal with a plan. Patient reports health, conflict with neighbors, and financial issues as the primary factors contributing to her current distress.
