CVS Health Corporation is an integrated pharmacy healthcare and head quartered in Woonsocket, RI. The President and CEO of CVS is Larry J. Merlo. The company has three segments, Pharmacy services, Retail pharmacy and Corporate. CVS was previously known as Caremark Corporation and the name was changed to CVS on September 3rd 2014.
CVS is the largest pharmacy healthcare provider in the United States. It has 7,800 retail pharmacies, more than 900 walk-in medical clinics. CVS has a presence in 46 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico and a retail drug store chain in Brazil.
The Pharmacy services have a full range of pharmacy benefits manager with more than 65 million plan members that enable people, businesses and communities to afford a healthy life style in an effective way. Pharmacy services segment of CVS offers mail order, specialty pharmacy and infusion services, formulary management, discounted drug purchase scheme, Medicare part D services, retail pharmacy network management services, prescription management services, clinical services and disease management services. CVS also provides health management programs for 17 conditions.
CVS offers Pharmacy Advisor, a clinical program for plan members to manage chronic diseases like Diabetes, Cardio vascular conditions, weight loss management and other diseases.
