QUESTIONS: 1. What should NEH do? Would you recommend developing new programs? Or, should existing programs be expanded to meet the increased demand? Provide the rationale for what you propose. The CEO should push NEH to conduct an external and internal analysis known as a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) Analysis (Buchbinder & Shanks, 2012). This is a strategic measure designed to help identify or pinpoint strategic plans that are worthy of pursuit in growing an organization or protecting its standing strengths (Buchbinder & Shanks, 2012). The SWOT analysis keys in on the internal capabilities, the external threats, and market opportunities (Buchbinder & Shanks, 2012). This information is very valuable when an organization wants to thrive in the market. The SWOT will benefit NEH as it will reveal the organization’s ability to do a number of things such provide adequate resources, revenue, manpower, marketing, and program sustainability. Whether developing new programs or expanding an existing programs to meet the new demand imposed by ACA, NEH must ensure it has the necessary resources. The SWOT analysis incorporates the market assessment, the mission, vision, and value statements, and the organizational assessment to formulate strategic plans that includes all three important components (Buchbinder & Shanks, 2012).
