I believe that in this case and in many cases gun control was a big issue. Here you had a guy with multiple criminal records and was still able to purchase a gun, I honestly don't think he should have been able to purchase one and neither should anyone else with a criminal record. I also believe that the gun stores so be allowed full access to background checks and history of the person that is trying to purchase a gun. I also believe that along wit the background checks I think people should have to pass a gun safety test on the spot. These are just something I think that could possibly help strengthen the gun control.
ProCon.org recently featured an article that studied gun control. “Stricter state gun laws associated with fewer gun deaths, study finds.” The article discussed gun control laws in states with stricter laws tend to have lower rates of gun related homicides, and a suicide (ProCon para. 1) Gun control in the United States is becoming a wide spread issue and is becoming a problem everywhere. Although I am living in a city with uprising crime that has been skyrocketing over the years, I wasn’t aware of this being an issue all over the United States. I decided to do some research to find out whether I am in favor of Gun control laws or not. After reviewing many articles for and against gun control, I found out that I do in fact agree with
The controversy surrounding the need for more gun control in the United States is a hot topic. Do we need more gun control? What about the 2nd Amendment? What about crime, protection, the mentally ill? There is a great amount of gun violence in this country and every time something happens, the argument starts up again. Maybe it is time to do more. Adam Gopnik wrote about this subject in his essay “Shootings”. His view is that there needs to be better gun control laws.
The National Rifle Association also continues to make an impact with politics and send founding to the national parties and committees. Donations that are made to national committees rapidly increase campaign spending. The NRA is very politically active and is a large organization with over five million members. Followers of the NRA are able to make their own political donations as long as they are in regulation with campaign finance limits. There are so many members involved with the NRA; thus, political power builds immensely.
There are many biases that are conveyed by Smith and one of the biases in particular that was prominent was Smith's rescue by Pocahontas. John Smith "had not mentioned the incident in an earlier account, A True Relation of … Virginia (1608)" (Belasco and Johnson 133). Smith could have simply fabricated the events in an attempt to advertise the colonies. Another factor that made Smith's narrative questionable was the incorporation of opinion in his narrative.

Kelvin went over to Bobby Joe’s and Mikenzie’s house and asked if they wanted to come over to his house then being a hospitable host, he walked over to Bobby Joe and showed him his new nerf gun. Then Kelvin shot Bobby Joe, committing homicide.

The second amendment to the United States Constitution states the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. This is giving the American people the right to own weapons. There is no separation as to who can and cannot be allowed to bear arms. It is a blanket statement, that when looked at for this case, gives all individuals that right, regardless of their criminal background.
Exploring the issues in gun control is the name of the article and it sounds obvious that the article is going to be about the issue behind mass shootings. The article is written by Dan O'Brien and Betty Stanton, who are both professional writers with great amount of knowledge about the issues in gun control. Dan O'Brien is a currently a Director of Safety and Environmental Health for San Antonio Water System, Certified Safety Professional, and Certified in Homeland Security. Betty Stanton is a 14-year veteran of U.S. Navy who is currently a currently a graduate student from Texas A&M University pursuing in Master of Public Service and Administration degree from George Bush School of Government and Public Service. Based on the name of their article, it seems like the article is going to talk about the connection between gun uses and the shooting incidents; however, guns are not the case. The gun control is not the real issue in mass shooting. Many people believe that guns are the main reason that there are more killing and shooting, especially mass shooting, but their facts usually fail to support their argument. Gun-free zones sounds like a safe place to be at and not have to worry about any mass shootings, but it always turns out wrong. In the article, Richard Mark, the former Arizona sheriff, says that guns are already banned in schools and that is why the shootings happen in schools. There haven't been any real evidence that gun laws decrease amount of mass shootings
The number of mass shootings in 2012 has led many lawmakers to consider further gun control reform. One option would be to reinstate the Federal Assault Weapons Ban, which would make it illegal to manufacture assault weapons for civilian use. New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg is also suggesting required background checks for every gun sold, stronger enforcement of straw sales (discouraging people to buy firearms for somebody who is not allowed to possess one), and a requirement for states to enter criminal and mental health records into the federal background check system.
After the Las Vegas mass shooting, gun control advocates only choice was to express their powerless outrage. As Vegas’s horrifying news unfolded, share prices of major gun manufacturers rose.
And all the while cameras are capturing all this for the record and 3000+ kids had eyes to see and phones to record with, and yet no one saw him in the act.
This week, the U.S Senate voted on two proposals to indurate the nation’s gun regulations in response to the San Bernardino murders. Both proposals failed on party line votes. “It was a huge victory that there was a vote at all,” said Dan Gross, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, in a telephone conference call. Most people in the Senate, are more worried about making a non-terrorist American wait to get his armaments. Senator John Cornyn of Texas called it
Gun control has been a big topic for the past decade in the united states. These debates will rise and fall time in and time out after something horrific happens in the state. Anti-Gun supporters do not realize that it is extremely difficult to regulate something in the states that is a big portion of our economy.Would stricter gun laws change anything? So far statistically It has been proven otherwise one must consider how a citizen would defend themselves when they are faced with terror. How will they defend themselves if there are restrictions on guns? It seems that some states that have stricter gun laws are where the most shootings and also where more terrorists attack take place. It seems that gun control is only pushed when shootings gradually get worse and worse. But why are these anti gun groups not speaking up when police brutality happens or when a racial hate crime occurs? Anti-Gun groups do not look at the bigger picture and try to understand that it is more than guns. Gun control almost plays Zero role in murders
The United States has 88.8 guns per 100 people, or about 270,000,000 guns, which is the highest total and per capita number across the globe. The current public gun control debate in the United States seems to be placed on standby until it is sparked up by a major mass shooting. There were at least 126 mass shootings between January 2000 and July 2014.(pro). Opponents of more gun laws accuse supporters of using a horrific event to further a lost cause, saying that more laws would not have prevented the shootings. Advocates of more gun control often want more laws to try to prevent the mass shootings and call for smart gun laws and background checks . Pew Research Center did
