I. IHSA Tennis – The Board of Directors of the IHSA have made the decision to create a two class system for both boys and girls tennis. The CSL Athletic Administrators have expressed their concern over this unilateral decision to the IHSA Executive Director and the IHSA Board of Directors. On the surface having two classifications may seem like a benefit to schools, however this will cut in half the number of individual state qualifiers from large schools, obviously this will have an adverse effect the individual tennis players resulting in both less representation of individuals and CSL teams.
II. Competitive Task Force Recommendations – The committee made up one athletic administrator from the seven different school districts in the

Financial statements play a crucial part in the determination of the progress of an organization. It assists the relevant personnel to identify whether the company is making profits or making losses. Although unethical, some companies will tend to deliberately misrepresent some of their financial statement information to create a false impression of the company’s success. Some companies in an attempt to continue in the market, they end up manipulating their financial statements that create an illusion of the success of the organization.
The competitive athletics programs of member institutions are designed to be a vital part of the educational system. A basic purpose of this Association is to maintain intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the educational program and the athlete as an integral part of the student body and, by so doing, retain a clear line of demarcation between intercollegiate athletics and professional sports (NCAA, 2011).
On May 11, 2017, Dundee Central School had a Board of Education meeting. Nine members were in attendance. The main focal point of the meeting was student Athletics. Member Kelly Houck brought up that student Athletics are becoming an issue with attendance. Less and less kids are participating in sports. She stressed that this was not a budget issue, it was a capacity issue.
While the academic education of student-athletes is of primary concern, the Athletics Council’s involvement extends to include all matters affecting the Athletics program. The Athletics

High School sports are safe havens for people all over America. Kids grow up and dream of bringing home state championships for the town they grew up in. However, more often than not they fall short. Public schools are at an extreme disadvantage in high school sports due to the simple fact that they draw from a set area of kids, while private schools can pick and choose. This leads to a question if whether public and private schools should be in a separate division for high school sports. Public and private schools should be in a separate division due to their ability to recruit, absolute dominance in sports and dwindling attendance of fans at sporting events.
I want to start off that I am very excited about having you as may teacher this year.I am very excited about learning. This year I have made my primary goal to excel in the classroom. However my secondary goal is to be great tennis player. For instance this weekend I traveled to a sectional tennis tournament in hopes that I would qualify for the national tournament this weekend. Well this weekend I preformed almost to the best of my ability and earned one of the tops spots into the national event later this week. This has also been one of my dreams to be able to play this event. However I will have to miss Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to be able to compete in this event. I know that missing this much school only makes your job harder and I
My journey on my high school tennis team has been a peculiar one. Going into my freshman year I was touted as one the stellar players, one who was on the path straight to varsity. Unfortunately, I tore one of the ligaments in my right wrist and was sidelined for the months right before the tennis season. Going into my season, my confidence was low, I was worried about making the junior varsity team. I would end up making JV but not varsity. The next year I was back with more determination. Injury free, I had high expectations but lacked confidence. As I entered try-outs, I was shocked. My teammates were waiting for me. Each one of them came up to me and told me that they knew I was going to play this year, and that I was going to live up to
The Wightman Cup was an annual women’s team tennis competition between the United States and Great Britain from 1923 to 1989. American player Hazel Wightman first suggested an international competition to generate interest in women's tennis. Efforts to include other countries proved difficult because of financial restraints. In 1920, Wightman donated a sterling silver trophy cup for the prize. In 1967 the event expanded to a 3 day affair alternating years between the U.S. and Great Britain. While the Wightman Cup did not survive beyond 1989 another competition, one truer to Hazel Wightman’s original vision, had sprung up to replace it.
The United Kingdom (UK) law for recruitment is a key area that makes it necessary for every organisation to follow it. It is important that every organisation, irrespective of which field it is in, follow the laws in order to make the right kind of recruitment process. Similarly, JD Sports needs to comply with the UK laws when recruiting an individual. To begin with, JD Sports should not discriminate between men and women. Under the Equality Act 2006, both the genders should be equal chance at opportunities, and this also includes the transgender people, as it will eliminate discrimination and harassment (Gatewood, Feild, & Barrick, 2010). The Race Relations Act 1976 states clearly that there should be no discrimination on the bases of colour, race, and nationality, ethnic or national origin. JD Sports must make certain that it is not creating any kind of discrimination in this aspect. Lastly, JD Sports have to take into consideration the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 1995 in order to make certain that they are giving fair chance of being employed to a disabled person, whether the individual
IU is about 193 miles from my house. Which is about 3 hours and 41 minutes away from my house by car. If you walked to IU it would take roughly 63 hours.
I believe that perseverance through dark and difficult times will make you become a stronger person. I was injured for fifteen months last year, and during those fifteen months I couldn’t play tennis, the sport I love so much. I felt like I was slowly eroding away, like the layers of the earth when there is nothing to keep it grounded. There was nothing to keep me grounded, and I felt stranded in a raging sea, desperately attempting to stay afloat. I had no outlet for any of my emotions, and how could I ignore the fact that my future tennis career might be nonexistent? I had doubts whether I would ever be able to play tennis again, let alone at a competitive level since I had excruciating pain even walking up a flight of stairs. There was
As we all know, America is a nation of sports enthusiasts. Most Americans participate is some kind of sporting event, either as a spectator or as a competitor. In the pantheon of great American sports, there is one that stands out. It has been called the great American pastime. Yes, that great sport known as tennis. Tennis requires a mastery of many skills to be able to play competitively, but the primary skill needed to win in tennis is the serve. The serve is the primary offensive weapon used I tennis, because it is the only time when a player gets to put a ball into play. The player controls the speed, the placement, and the spin of the ball. With proper procedure, the serve can win many points and games for the server. The technique
Table tennis is characterized by numerous rules that govern how the game should be played. The game is mainly characterized by exceptionally fast reactions thereby making rules quite necessary. Players must allow the ball to bounce once on their side of the court before returning it to the opposite end. The initial serve is, however, exempted from this requirement. Points are scored if a team fails to keep the ball in play. The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) instituted some key changes in the rules of the game following the 2000 Olympics games, which were held in Sidney, Australia. The amendments were mainly aimed at enhancing the game’s viability as a spectator sport that could be televised. Among the new changes was the increasing of the ball’s diameter to 40 millimeters. Soon thereafter, the ITTF changed the game’s scoring system from 21-point to 11-point system (International Table Tennis Federation, 2014). The serve rotation was also brought down from five points to two. Soon thereafter, the global federation of the game changed the rules and effectively prohibited players from hiding balls during service. In keeping with the sport’s spirit of fairness, the rules cushions opponents from being caught by surprise. Rules require that the ball must be tossed a minimum of 16 centimeters in the air before being served. There are rules governing the course of events during a match including which team takes the first serve. In order to highlight the numerous
