I am an architect and owner of the firm, McNaughton Architecture, Inc. My firm designs a variety of project types such as custom residential, office buildings, historic preservation, adaptive use, and outpatient medical clinics. Andrew has worked very closely with me for the past three years as an architectural design consultant. Throughout that period his work ethic, force of personality, and sharp scientific mind have been of considerable importance to the success of my firm. I am writing today to offer my highest recommendation that Andrew Keldgord be admitted to the school of medicine for the 2016 class. Andrew has a bachelor of science degree in physics, with no prior architectural training. He impressed me from the beginning by learning …show more content…
Andrew collaborated as part of the design team and executed all of the architectural drawings with commendable autonomy in a reasonable time-frame. In response to the especially demanding project manager and schedule, Andrew would periodically work through most of the night in order to meet scheduled deadlines. His professional dedication impressed me and helped to ensure that the project was a success, the clients were pleased, and future work would be awarded to the …show more content…
The goal fo architectural and engineered construction drawings is to organize, clarify, and effectively convey an enormous amount of detailed information in order to describe how a complicated building, such as a medical clinic or net-zero house must be built. Andrew's construction drawings have a quality of sophistication that demonstrates his genuine understanding of the complex codes and project criteria. It is important to note, on all of the projects Andrew has been involved in, I have never had a change order; this is undoubetly due to the consistant high quality of his work. I have no doubt that his concetrated attention to detail will be a critical asset in his future career. Andrew has a calm and methodical approach to problem solving that has contributed positively to the dynamics of my firm. He works well alone or in groups; he is intuitive, helpful, and is a pleasure tobe around. In all the time he was worked with me, I have never seen him flustered, overwhelmed, or frustrated, even when events transpired to warrrant these responses. His proffesionalism and grace in the face of demanding situations is a critical personality trait that I believe will translate well in the medical
The Buckeye State Building and Loan Company was built in 1895, in the height of the building frenzy. It specialized in real estate mortgage loans for town and farm properties. Its prior locations included 101 N. High Street (1895) and 22 W. Gay Street (1899). But, it ultimately selected a new location to build in 1926, the site at 36 E. Gay Street. The contractor Robert Evans and the architecture firm Hopkins and Dentz of New York City designed Buckeye State Building and Loan Company in the classical revival style.
They serve as pillars of wisdom and guidance while exhibiting communication adroitness with care teams and patients to engineer top-notch medical care. To maintain high standards, effective medical professionals are constantly taking in new information through continuing education, placing providers at the pinnacle of knowledge. Moreover, physicians require affective aptitude as they must convey empathy during patient interactions. All these attributes draw me to seek the personal challenge and resulting responsibilities that are demanded. I desire to become an important contribution to society in a field I am passionate
There are 25 major specialties in engineering that are recognized by professional societies. In any one of those 25 specialties, the goal of the engineer is the same. The goal is to be able to come up with a cost effective design that aids people in the tasks they face each day. Whether it be the coffee machine in the morning or the roads and highways we travel, or even the cars we travel in, it was all an idea that started with an engineer. Someone engineered each idea to make it the best solution to a problem. Even though engineer 's goals are similar, there are many different things that engineers do within their selected field of engineering. This paper will focus on the architectural field of engineering.
Now thats hard work and detication. The article states, "The engineers worked throughout the winter measuring, designing, and drawing." This took a lot of hard work to complete the building by spring. This is why intelligence and pysical strength is such an imortant roll in working together to create something big and by being able to get it done in time.
n Blaine, MN, Coon Rapids, MN, Ham Lake, MN and surrounding areas, inclement weather is just a part of life. Storms happen and there isn't much that can be done to prevent them. Knowing this means its prudent to have a company on hand to come out when you walk outside after a storm to find that you have hail damage. Whether you have hail damage to roof or hail damage to roof siding, we at John Pederson Construction, Inc., can and will get out there quickly to assess the damage.
To explain the importance of a schedule in the process of constructing a building, Mr. Whittle showed us how he scheduled the Roth Street Flats and the issues that came into play. The first schedule that was presented was the four-week look-ahead schedule for the project. This was created at the front-end of the project when very few subcontractors on the site. Mr. Whittle explained to use that if you are going to have major delays, you want them to be at the beginning of the project so that you have plenty of time to catch up and react to the effects of the delay. The Roth Street Flats were originally scheduled to be an eighteen-month project, but a major delay caused the project team to lose one month. There was a tower crane on site, and when the operator
Robert Chuckrow Construction Company (Chuckrow) was employed as the general contractor to build a Kinney Shoe Store. Chuckrow employed Ralph Gough to perform the carpentry work on the store. The contract with Gough stipulated that he was to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, scaffolding, and other items necessary to complete the carpentry work. Gough’s employees erected 38 trusses at the job site. The next day, 32 of the trusses fell off the building. The reason for the trusses having fallen was unexplained, and evidence showed that it was not due to Chuckrow’s fault or a deficiency in the building plans. Chuckrow told Gough that he would pay him to reerect the trusses and continue work. When the job was complete, Chuckrow paid Gough the original contract price but refused to pay him for the additional cost of reerecting the trusses. Gough sued Chuckrow for this expense. Can Gough recover?
Construction accurately followed the plans, but 3-4 details could have been refined for a more attractive product.
Beyond the limitations of the actual plan, another shortcoming of pursuing this opportunity on Revere Street are the serious implications associated with Alexander’s “do-it-yourself” approach. By not outsourcing responsibilities to experts, he may be avoiding the explicit employment costs, but he is likely to pay more for doing the job himself later. For example, hiring a general contractor would ensure that the building is constructed to code, would be more efficient because the GC would know how to best handle subcontractors and manage the overall project, both of which would help expedite the process
The owner accuses the contractor’s employee to have known the error prior to the tender opening.

Introduction- Traditional engineering design courses frequently have depended on chance to connection hypothesis with practice. Seeing these shortfalls in understudy reasonable building plan encounter, the Department of Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign chose to patch up its green bean level designing course by presenting an undertaking based educational programs. The reason was that a venture based, hands-on action that was associated precisely with quantitative building examination would acquaint understudies with the rigors of designing configuration hone at an early stage in their building vocation, alongside different advantages.
In mid-September 2005, Ashley Swenson, the CFO of large CAD/CAM equipment producer must choose whether to pay out profits to the firm¡¦s investors or repurchase stock. On the off chance that Swenson pays out profits, she should likewise settle on the extent of the payout.
Generally, I revere everything in life, it illustrates a clear explanation of whom I want to become in the future. The grade 10 students were introduced to the MYP personal project and with this in mind, I had many vital ideas executed, but confused to choose a product that contributes to my interests. I love learning and discovering new things. After many cups of coffee, I obtained an idea or goal to create a three-dimensional foam architectural model of my dream house. My family built our own house in India last year and for viewing the stages of building a house became one of my interest. I always wondered how the workers/builders managed to get the house in perfect shape as the engineer contemplated. For instance, how can a bunch of line sketches or drawings on a piece of paper transform into a three-dimensional figure on land; when both the engineer and construction worker dont have any relationship in common. I have many questions that are still unanswered. Based on this personal, I will build a model of my dream house as a (final) product. This personal project is important because it will enhance my organizational skills, creativity and time management. Throughout this project, I will create blueprints for both main/first floors and interior/exterior elevation. I want to succeed in this project
