Meals on Wheels of Wake County reached a milestone this year. We served our 8,000,000th meal to a wonderful 100 year old woman who has remained in her home for almost 20 years with our assistance. She, with all of our 1,300 clients offers proof that our 41 year old program is effective. The power of human contact and kindness when one person brings a nutritious meal to another in need is what makes it so effective. The shared vision, hard work and generous support from our donors and volunteers
Meals on Wheels, an organization that feeds elderly who can’t feed themselves, is planned to get some of its funding cut off with the president’s new financial plan. Meals on wheels was the other nonprofit organization that I analyzed in my leadership style and theories overview. I choose meals on wheels because I discovered that there target audience is the elderly population in the United States. Nursing Case Management Assignment 3: Case Study Mrs. D is a 3 week post colectomy patient that has been readmitted to the hospital with severe dehydration. She has been struggling with proper nutrition and ostomy care since her discharge post-surgery. Our goal with Mrs. D should be to rehydrate her and provide her with patient education on the importance of proper nutrition and on ostomy care. After she has been rehydrated with intravenous fluids and proper nutrition she could benefit from possibly
Advertising to children began in the 1970s, marketers decided to advertise to children because they can be heavily influenced by commercials (Wilcox, Kunkel, Cantor, Dowrick, Linn, Palmer, 2004). Some believe there are ethical concerns with targeting children, because they are so easily persuaded. Others such as Lalley, senior vice president at Lid-Leo (company specializes in accounts for McDonald’s and Nintendo), believe the commercials are not manipulating children to make purchases, because commercials
