One of the ways that New Belgium maintains a great strategic plan was coming up with new and innovative ways to increase the company’s revenue. Its annual Tour de Fat, a traveling carnival that celebrates bike culture, raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for bike-related nonprofits in the cities it visits. Since, 1994 New Belgium also donated $1 dollar for every barrel of beer it sells, that would be donated to cycling Ferrell, (2008).
The grants have total more than $650,000 a year. The brewery generates 2 percent of its power from rooftop solar panels and another 15 percent from an on-site cogeneration plant that is powered by the methane produced by treating its waste-water, this is a huge strategic plan for the company.
