1. The service being introduced is a “Book Café”; a coffeehouse that accommodates an in-house bookstore. This concept has been a huge success all over the world, and it is time that the idea is promoted on a larger scale, here in the United Arab Emirates. This coffeehouse would function like any other coffee shop; serving hot and cold beverages like a variety of teas and coffees, baked goods like cakes, muffins and cookies, sandwiches and wraps, all of which would be prepared fresh daily. The only twist would be a book lounge within the shop, where customers can enjoy a wide range of books for reading while savoring comfort food. The shop would be designed in a way that caters to both, readers and non-readers. We could serve as a pit stop right before work, to grab …show more content…
The Book Café will follow a self-service policy; customers will be able to choose and pick up food items themselves, then place an order for their choice of beverage, which will be prepared by our staff and then served to them. From this we can estimate that the café would need about 5 employees, each working on one of the following designations: a) Café Manager – His/her main duty would be to supervise the smooth running of the café. He/she will be answerable to customers’ queries and requirements at all times. Thus we would require someone with experience is a managerial position, who also has good leadership and communication skills. Since this is the highest post in the café, approximate salary = AED 1,800 per month. b) Book Store Manager – He/she will manage the Book Lounge; provide customers with information on books available, assist them in locating their desired books and make sure that every customer is satisfied. Thus we would require someone with good knowledge of books and other literary scripts available at the Book Lounge, he/she must also have good communication skills. This post can be fulfilled by a recent graduate, realistically, with a degree in English
In our society, we can see many different kinds of social setting and one of the most common settings is coffee shop. Indeed, there is at least one coffee shop on each block. According to Coffee Association of Canada, the market size of coffee industry in Canada is more than 6.2 billion dollars. It shows that how big and important this social setting is. Among a lot of coffee shops, Starbucks, Tim Horton, and Second Cup are the biggest and the most popular franchisers in Canada. With 11,000 plus coffeehouses worldwide, it is evident that their strategy of being passionate about their customer relation and their devotion to delivering a quality product goes beyond culture and language.
For this project, I have decided to open a coffee shop that serves regular and specialty coffee, and small pastry items that is located in a prominent neighborhood near a train station or a high foot traffic area. Coffee has become a popular beverage where it is not just needed in the mornings but throughout the day, whether they are on their way to work or just to sit and relax. I am a coffee drinker myself and it is uncommon to find a coffee place that has a warm, home feeling atmosphere. It is important to have one of these types of coffee shop in any neighborhood. My goal is to provide every customer coffee and pastry whether
Over the past few years, commercial spaces have become areas for multifunction activities. Along with the availability of gourmet coffee, food, ample seating, and free WIFI bookstore cafes have welcomed a clientele that blends leisure, social and work related activities. In this context, a local popular Barnes and Noble bookstore cafe served as the perfect environment to perform a field observation for this assignment and to explore customer behaviors and reasons for patronizing this particular establishment.

Five years ago David and Alison opened a small café inside the nursery. They now have two full-time staff and an additional part-time staff member who works over lunch-time and on weekends; although during the school holidays Alison’s daughter also assists in the café. A new café opened for business 18 months ago around the corner, in a small strip of shops attached to a business park. This new operation is open Monday – Friday from 7am–3pm offering breakfast and lunch, specialising in gourmet food and beverages.
Coffee pot: The café was a walking distance from our hotel – and opened very early, so ended up having breakfast here many times. The coffee and food were great, but we really enjoyed the ambiance and the friendly service. They also offer half-plates so won’t have leftovers to carry around. My favorite dish was the build your own omelet and the Waffles.

Customer service manager. He would do well communicate with suppliers, clients and relevant people to increase targets and profits for their company in the future.
“This has been a coffee shop since the 80’s,” Laura, the owner for the past six years said. At 12:30 on a Thursday afternoon there is a short line when walking into the restaurant through the tall propped open doors. There is an overwhelming feeling of family from standing in the line until you leave. Standing in the line there is a large chalkboard menu overhead categorized into numerous sections of drinks and light meals. The categories are written neatly in white chalk, and the items in each category in a smaller
The company location is based at Penang, Butterworth Sunway Carnival Mall. The facilities such as free Wi-Fi, comfortable sofas and chairs, dimmed light and quiet relaxing music will help the customers to relax from the daily stresses and will differentiate Starbucks Coffee shop from incumbent competitors. Meanwhile one employee will be preparing the customer’s order, the other one will be taking care of the sales transaction.
CoffeeVille has been experiencing consistent growth in sales and numbers of customers over the last two years. This growth has led to a need for a second floor manager who is able to manage customer complaints, take responsibility for higher level café operations and manage staff performance.
In order to implement this plan of the customer grinding its own coffee beans, the whole Starbucks store operations must be modified. Currently, the retail stores has space where the partners (employees) work and serve customers, the "back" where the backroom and bathrooms are, and the café section where customers sit down and enjoy their drinks. Behind the counter, the floor is divided by the register, beverage station, digital brewer, and the pastry case. The register is the point of
Though coffee houses throughout Europe have a self-explanatory function of meeting point, discussion area and recreational facility, this concept has only recently been explored in North America, and is gaining in popularity and social recognition as we speak, and is only expected to increase over the course of the next few years.
