Atlanta Bethal Community Church(C) Monday, March 7 was touched by the serving heart of a recent Church Attendee. Larry Tharpe, middle age African American male, expressed a serving heart by asking Minster Anderson if he could help with any church works, including evangelism.
Larry walked into the church by himself about a month ago before Sunday Service. At that time, he looked very sad and weary. He spoke to staff and said "I need word of God and prayers". The Church's prayer team prayed for him shortly before service, and he cried out for Jesus with tears of pain. He looked much more peaceful and graceful later after the prayer and after the service.
Larry comes to church every Sunday and joined Friday prayer meeting last week. He asked
From the Project Director’s experience, it is common to hear and feel a sense of gratitude and positive pride that Lenexa Baptist Church (LBC) is an excellent church from both leaders and the small group setting participants. Any faults found are minor and pale in comparison to many of the issues a church could face. LBC is a regional church with multiple campus locations strategically selected for maximum impact to reach Kansas City with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Gary United Methodist Church is a small congregation of less than fifty members with an average worship attendance of ten or less. The congregational leaders, known as the administrative council, are looking for ways to increase attendance, which has been dwindling over the last few decades, and find new ways to engage in mission work in their small northern Minnesota community of less than 3,000. A decrease in employment opportunities over the last thirty years and the shutdown of two major employers in the town have led to the mass exiting of families with children. The town has several properties that are either condemned or dilapidated. Recently their schools combined with a neighboring town to offset the lack of enrollment and suspend the closing of both sets of schools.
In 2006, Love Center Family Church (LCFC) was birthed out of the vision of Pastor Joseph Hill. He along with his wife created LCFC to “Reach out to others with God’s love.” LCFC operates as a 501c3 company and is guided by the regulations that govern non-profit organizations. Love Center Family Church is led by the founding pastor and the decisions are made by the board of directors. The church is a storefront church located in Suffolk, VA and since its start Love Center Family Church has grown from 10 members to over 250. The church offers various ministries within the church such as the Men’s, Women’s and Children’s ministries but also reach out to the community through their outreach ministry. While the church is still relatively small
1. What does the increase of education Among African-American clergy indicate? (Chapter 5) As the results of our survey will show, educational level has been a key variable in determining a pastor’s awareness of social problems in the surrounding community, cooperation with social agencies, attitude toward politics, and awareness of internal problems in church structures (Lincoln, C. Eric, and Lawrence H. Mamiya 130).
Since its’ inception, the Southern Baptist Convention has stood in unity against the consumption of alcohol for recreational and social purposes. However, there has been a growing group of Southern Baptists that are challenging this historically held position. Richard Land and Duke Barrett write a defense of Southern Baptists historical position on abstinence from alcohol.
Evangelhouse Christian Academy is a private, parent-choice therapeutic boarding school for girls. You could say it’s more than a school, it’s a place for troubled teens. Located in St. Martinville, LA and includes 25 acres of beautiful scenery, the young Christian girls who attend will have a wonderful place to become rooted, grow and mature into the young women they should be, not delinquent.
For this assignment, I was tasked with researching and discussing the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church (AMEZC). Being raised attending and participating in church, and later becoming a Minister in the African Methodist Episcopal denomination, I found it interesting to research the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church (AMEZC). I was interested in seeing the differences. In this paper, I will share the researched information regarding its founding, polity, dates, places, etc. I will also share its demographics, such as number of members, number of churches, number of schools, colleges, seminaries, and include significant figures as well.

Whereupon their application got denied. As a result of which the church seek legal redress in a lower court of Appeals for the Eight Circuit where it got denied second time based on Constitution of Missouri that says that no public finding can go to religious
1A. Although this case can easily be argued either way, I believe that the court should rule against the Grace Church of Devoted Followers. This case echoes Wisconsin v Yoder (406 U.S. 205). In Yoder, a group of Amish people refused to comply with compulsory attendance once their children reached high school age. The reason for that is because the Amish believe that high school will provide a more “worldly” culture for their kids; this directly goes against their core religious beliefs because Amish society emphasizes a “life of goodness” rather than intellect. The Amish do not object to education in the eighth grade on down, because they recognize the necessity for basic education.
He was unable to protect his brother, unable to form healthy relationships with peers, and unable to confront his father. He believes that a good person attends Bible camp, Bible study, and Sunday school, but he still ponders, “ What does God want me to do?” He hears conflicting messages from church officials, community leaders, and his parents. In church, the Pastor indicates, “ That God’s people are rewarded for faith and good acts.”
In my Visual Rhetoric Essay I chose to use an anti-smoking advertisement. When you are watching your favorite show there are various advertisements that target people. Now you see an advertisement which exposed the dangers of smoking. These commercials are used to display the consequences of smoking and persuades people to stop smoking. This advertisement is shown within a dingy gas station store with a woman coming to buy a pack of cigarettes with the money she has.
He didn’t want to look at me, he wouldn’t talk to me, and even when I was near him he would (very obviously) scoot away. By the end of the week, he had said barely ten words to me in total! I know nothing still of his background or what home is like for him, but I understand the environment of the reservation, and I can tell you that the society he’s grown up in is very different than any of ours. I couldn’t expect him to want to participate in all the things we were asking of him, and it certainly wouldn’t have been fair for me to expect him to behave the way I wished him to. However, despite all, he worked diligently on memorizing scripture (which he was amazingly good at), and by the end of the week, I noticed him participating in worship. This was a small, seemingly simple moment, but with big significance. He, whether he understood it or not, was putting something good in his heart. Scripture itself tells us time and time again to store up God’s word in our hearts, and to guard it. Diamond Willow is creating environments like these for these children to learn that habit! Who knows when those memorized verses and worship songs will come to mind in their futures? God alone
Unlike many of his fellow church members, he decided to take action and help as many people
Over 6% of beauty pageant participants suffer from depression and serious eating disorders. The common mental disorders among contestants include anorexia, bulimia, and anxiety. (Dalbey 2). Pageants diminish women’s self esteem while pitting these suffering women against their own comrades. A system designed to build participants’ perception of themselves, actually does the opposite.
With the presidential election peering around the corner, it is time to bring back an age-old topic which has been troubling United States citizens for decades, the War on Drugs. Politicians have long quarreled over what sort of action should be taken to combat the world’s drug problems, and it is time that this issue surfaces again. Despite increased efforts from every government faction imaginable, the drug problem subsists, if not worsens. The market for cops and criminals in the drug war fields has not made any noticeable progress within the last 20 years (Kapczynski). Perhaps with the turn of the tide and hopefully a change of administration, the United States can develop a
