Introduction Domestic violence is a very serious social problem whereby everyone have to concern about this issue. It happens in everywhere and anytime and will cause death and injury too. According to All Women’s Action Society (AWAM), domestic violence happens when a partner, former partner or family member attempts to control and dominate a person through violence, the threat of violence or other means of control such as deprivation (AWAM, 2009). Statistic on 2012 shows that domestic violence against women cases in Malaysia is the highest among violence against women which were reported about 3488 cases (WAO, 2011). This shows that domestic violence in Malaysia become serious and women always become the target of domestic violence. Women …show more content…

Objectives
The objectives that our group chooses Domestic Violence Act 1994 as our study are:
• To study that who is the target group
• To identify the program about domestic violence that had been done before
• To study the strength and weakness of the program about domestic violence had been done before
• To identify the role of government and community Domestic Violence Act 1994 (ACT 521) Malaysia’s Domestic Violence Act 1994 was approved by the parliament on 19 May 1994 and officially become law on 7 July 1994. This law was enacted on 1 June 1996 and can apply to every Malaysia people. The main objective of this law is to provide legal protection to people who have been abused. According to Domestic Violence Act 1994, the definition of domestic violence involve physical injury, fear of physical injury, emotional abuse, psychology abuse, intimidation, harassment, and stalking abusive behavior that harms or may cause harm to a person. The Act also stated that the court has the power to grant an Interim Protection Order to protect the people while waiting for police investigation on the domestic violence
