According to SMBGC’s website, SMBGC’s mission is to “inspire and enable young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential” (smbgc.org). “Those who need us must” refers definitely to the miracles of our lives: the children. SMBGC’s child focused mission is a value for the community, which is important and relevant to consider. It was the significant reason that I wanted to participate at this site.

Organizational metaphors help researchers to shape concepts of behaviors, management, and structure in a simple and easy for the perception image. Organizational theorists broadly utilize this tool to classify different types of companies in the contemporary world and to reflect their evolution throughout the history of organizational development. The metaphors of machine and organism have been used most frequently to facilitate understanding and communication about the complex phenomenon of organization (Smircich, p. 340).
The Parent Involvement goal states that by June 2017 they want to increase parent involvement at school-sponsored events from 42% to 67% participation. This plan was created after assessing the 2015-2016 ODR(Office Discipline Referral) composite and there was disproportionality in 4 students’ referral and suspension rates that had increased since the previous year. The assistant principal reports the ODR of the school at each School Improvement Team (SIT) meeting. I believe my mission statement will change as I continue to grow and gain more knowledge about my new career as I continue through my classes and internship, here is where I begin in March 2017. We are all working towards what’s best for the child, while each person (parent, teacher, school psychologist, administrator) has their specific role, our collaborative goal is always the same. I want to remember the negative experiences I had as a parent navigating the assessment and initial IEP process and do what I can to keep another family from having a similar experience. I also want to remember all of the positive interactions I’ve had with people who have worked together to help a student learn to the best of their abilities. I want developmentally appropriate assessment experiences in hopes of getting the best ‘snapshot’ of the child.
Treating each child as an individual and meeting their individual needs by acknowledging parents ' wishes and beliefs.
We believe we can provide safe, secure, affordable, quality care for our families in a home like environment. We also strive to create a positive atmosphere so the children can interact with their peers, teachers and families. We believe that children can learn from their peers regardless of their abilities. We see to it that everyone is treated equally regardless of their ethnic and religious backgrounds. We provide a challenging and educational curriculum as well. As children graduate from child care, my goal is for every child and parent to be confident and fully prepared for the next step in the children’s lives.
