I have wanted to be a doctor since I was very young, but my experiences in the classroom and the laboratory have introduced me to a field that I never considered before. I would like to participate in the Chemistry and Biochemistry REU at Georgia Tech to develop and learn laboratory skills. Participating in this program will ultimately help me decide whether I would like to pursue a career as a doctor or a researcher. My interest in research has thus far been oncology, which is very broad leading to my interest in areas of research, including infectious diseases, bioremediation, biotechnology, and biochemistry. Taking a class in genetics and learning about the different methods of sequencing and exploring the effects of mutations has also contributed to my interest in research in molecular genetics. For these reasons, working with the guidance of faculty like Wendy Kelly, who conducts research in biosynthetic engineering would be very enlightening. Kelly’s research analyzes enzymes in their role in constructing proteins in antibiotics to manipulate their roles to facilitate anticancer and antimicrobial activities. Conducting a project under Kelly’s aid would allow me to indulge my interest in cancer research and increase my knowledge of cancer treatment by providing me with the opportunity to analyze and test the activity and functions of a natural process. Taking on a project with Wendy Kelly in an area that is in the process of uncovering answers to cancer therapies would not only help me to develop my knowledge of synthesis of medicinal products, but it would also provide me with the chance to experience the research timeline in regards to gathering information and yielding a product. Adegboyega Yomi Oyelere is another faculty member who I would like to participate in a research project with. Oyelere conducts research on biological processes of diseases to ultimately
I am writing today to express my interest and qualifications for New York State Science Honor Society. I feel that my personal background makes me uniquely qualified for such a prestigious program. I am very excited to, hopefully, bring my special set of skills to this outstanding program.
Scenario 2: Gary M. was arrested by the FBI when he showed up at a local mall to meet a "14 year old girl" for a date, which he arranged over the Internet. He didn't know that the "14 year old girl" was a 35-year old male FBI agent. Category of crime, crimes of public morality referring to cybercrime, charges Iowa code 705.1 solicitiation of a minor felony up to 5 years imprisonment and fines (Reuters, 2017).
Gary Baker is a non-SDA famer who has a total of 57 years farming on his own. According to FLP staff, the applicant has a current FSA-902 and is reporting farming activity consistently with FLP application. He was born and raised on a family farm and has farmed the majority if not all his life. He started his own farming operation in 1961 after working for his father for multiple years. His major enterprise is Soybeans and Tobacco. This year he projects to plant 225 acres of soybeans and 70 acres of Flue-Cured Tobacco. The size of the operation is considered between small and medium being that it is 100 acres. All the farmland is large and is near to his headquarters. He does not work a non-farm income job currently. He does most of the work on his own but does
Firstly, there are grammatical changes that need to be made. Instant messages should be pluralized. Also, when writing formally I prefer to use ‘does not’ instead of ‘doesn’t’. The sentence regarding fonts and abbreviations does not seem to have a subject. I am also surprised to find out that my spell check allows the word ‘crayoned’. These are just a few grammatical errors that will aid in conveying a message to your audience, regardless of the intended demographic. I feel that the essay does convey an overall message. The overuse of technology as a medium for communication diminishes the personal touch of the message.
The NCAA allows Division II baseball programs to schedule a maximum of 50 games in a season, with a start date of February 1st. Erskine College is in Conference Carolinas which has 10 schools that field baseball teams. This means each school has nine weekends scheduled by the conference for a total of 27 games that start the last weekend of February. Each school is then responsible for scheduling the remaining 23 non-conference games however the coach sees fit. The most important part of a non-conference schedule is booking the open weekends prior to starting conference play. This will allow the team to get their conference starting pitchers on a schedule that will have them ready for the first conference weekend. The hard part in filling these weekends is that the Peach Belt and South Atlantic conferences start their conference schedule the second weekend
An experience in my life that influenced my academic goals was being homeless at the age of 15 to 17. i was living on the streets stealing from stores to eat and other people too who i saw to weak to fight back. My child hood wasn't the greatest but i had the support
It is my opinion that HBCU’s certainly do remain not only relevant, but also necessary. HBCU’s were originally established due African American’s pursuit of an education and the acquiring a piece of the “American Dream” was thwarted by racial segregation. HBCU’s provided our young men and women with an education and developed future leaders. The very essence of their existence bestow black people with a positive identity, a safe nurturing haven for learning where their expression of emotional, mental and spiritual being need not be altered, changed, distorted or parodied for the purpose of assimilation to another’s race, culture or socially acceptable standards.
I find the field of biology fascinating and I thoroughly enjoy learning the subject. It is an ever changing and developing subject with new advancements every day. These advancements can change people’s lives for the better and I want to be part of that.
Well I’ve almost survived the first whole month of this journal but I dunno if I can do it much longer. It is just doesn’t seem like me and makes me think about a lot of depressing things that I’ve gone through. I grew up through the time I worked on E Block. I started off as a man that was cranky and didn’t care about the inmates or much at home but after everything with John I was thankful for my family and actually listened and gained a heart for some people I wouldn't usually believe in
which I would like to be a part of. As a medical student, I will take advantage of research
I feel that I’ve grown a lot since I wrote my first journal for this class. In my first entry, I wanted to gain confidence, improve my timing and count, and to extend my kicks, and I am happy to say that I have improved in all of these areas. Since I’ve come close to recognizing these few goals, I’d like to set some new ones to work on as I continue this journey.
The case study focuses on an employee, Paul Keller, who is being affected by a number of factors. His job performance is hindered by constraints such as his work environment, his home environment, stressors, mood, and the management style of his superior. The case study demonstrates how his job performance is affected and what the consequences could be as a result of his poor job performance and lack of concentration.
This case study outlines the steps taking by a committee to during the process as well as the solution to those problems will be discussed.
Day one: I’m at work figuring out this weird object that seemed to be a new rock from the earth’s core. It’s purple and 10 ft long with the width of five feet!! No one has ever seen this ever on earth. I asked a few workers to help me mine out this rock. After we’re done mining it i saw a little piece of metal sticking out. It won’t budge to open. It was late at night and still mining to see what this is. Few more minutes later, we gave up.
