After Enrique reaches the U.S.-Mexico border, he must prepare to cross the Rio Grande, a river that divides the two countries, by saving money to call his mother, finding a smuggler who will assist him in crossing safely, and learning how to survive in Nuevo Laredo. For Enrique, saving money is a necessity because he yearns to call his mother and needs to buy a phone card. If he can contact his mother, he might be able to convince her to pay a trustworthy smuggler. Enrique needs a smuggler to help him cross the Rio Grande safely and ensure that he isn’t left stranded in Texas once he gets across. He has found a man named El Tiríndaro in a camp near the border who is known to be trustworthy and has the resources such as inner tubes and contacts
On the day of April 19, 1993, at the Mount Carmel Compound in Waco Texas, an inferno of flames broke out after a 51 day siege on the Branch Davidians cult group. A total of 92 lives were lost during the fire, as well as many more during the previous 51 days. Many speculations arose whether the compound being incinerated was set by the FBI in a final attempt to make the Davidians leave the compound, and end the million dollar siege once and for all, or if it was a mass suicide conducted by David Koresh, the leader of the Branch Davidians. Of course, this will always remain a mystery, because almost 100 of the members refused to leave the building, leaving it to be a national tragedy, and unclosed case of who did it.
At the request of Sergeant S.Drewry I made contact with Assistant Vice President Donna PARIS() at Big Horn Federal regarding money being transferred into an account at Big Horn Federal. PARIS informed me that the bank had placed a hold on the funds and are waiting for a request from the bank that had sent the money before they could wire the money back. Boca Grande, Florida (33921) has a population of 1,230. Boca Grande is a small town located on the west coast of Florida. The second you get off the plane you can smell the salty waters and fruity smoothies. The dry air and glaring sun on your skin brings me the feeling of warmth and happiness. The bright green palm tree leaves rustling in the wind providing slight shade from the bright golden sun. The sand if full of shells, that with one wrong step will slice your foot. Making your journey down to the water not comfortable. The water is so still in the morning it looks like a painting. Even when it's seventy-five degrees outside the water is still as clear as glass. It’s cold at first, but after you dive under like a dolphin once or twice
In June of 2014, Vice President Joe Biden met with leaders from Central American countries including Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Mexico “to help highlight warnings about the dangers of crossing Mexico and the United States border, as well as the futility of trying to obtain legal status without a proper visa.”(Archibold) The number of unaccompanied children migrating to the United States continues to steadily increase since its initial boom in the late 1990’s. Highlighted in the 2006 biographical piece, Enrique’s Journey by Sonia Nazario, the author writes to express the dangers not just at the U.S.-Mexican border, but rather from Central American countries throughout Mexico itself to get to the borderline.
The underground economy in the Rio Grande Valley is larger than most areas in Texas, because of the location of the valley and the influence the drug cartels have in Mexico and parts of the valley. This has allowed the underground economy in the valley to remain constant. The overall wealth of the valley has also raised activity as many people during these times struggle with money and is always a issue to many families in the valley. This problem may not be as evident to some as others, but it is a problem we all have in common with no matter what more money always seems to be a solution to one of many problems we may face at times. Although money isn’t the answer to every problem this mentality in a sense could lead some that are in desperate
(1) List and discuss at least three reasons for the reconquest of New Mexico by the Spanish.
Enrique challenges, which the undocumented people don’t have same human right. When Enrique was with his four friends in the motel the police came and arrested them all. In order to recreate scenes, Nazario spent six months retracing Enrique’s steps from Honduras to North Carolina. She experienced almost everything he did, from riding on tops of freight trains to hitchhiking with truckers. By making the same journey as Enrique,

The Pecos river is an amazing kayaking trip that really puts the individual in the center of nature. It is roughly 900 miles long and is “one of the major tributaries of the Rio Grande (Pecos).” The Pecos River was home to the Pecos Pueblo Indians and they left behind a variety of different artwork (Pecos). These pieces of art range from pots to pictographs and petroglyphs that can be located in a variety of places along the river. However, there has been an increase in human activity that has caused some of the pieces of artwork to be damaged or fully destroyed. One of the most popular places to find petroglyphs is along the Lewis Canyon. There are roughly thousands of petroglyphs that the ancient Indian tribes would carve into the stone but, since the rise in the human levels, I have noticed people trying to impersonate some of these images and also leave trash around that area. Therefore, I believe that it would be best to have someone go out there every week to pick up the trash and to also look after this place because there is history that surrounds the Pecos River.
Enrique’s expedition was a deadly pathway for most immigrants with similar interests; children, young and old are most likely to have their arms and legs severed or even die before they could see their mothers again. For enrique, dangers lurked in the form of gangsters, bandits, police offices and La Migra. They rob and rape innocents, stripping them of anything valuable, even their mother’s numbers.Enrique endured the beatings of a gangster, which left him with a permanent drooped left eye; he suffered several injuries that he wished he was caught by the officials, ending the torture. After several failures, Enrique’s eighth attempt to cross borders became successful; he reached Nuevo laredo, close to the U.S territory. Along the way, he met friends, foes and kind people whose offering aided his journey; he worked small jobs to earn money for food and bandits, if they threaten to kill
In this story, Sonia Nazario recounts how a Honduran boy called Enrique passed many dangerous situations in his travel to the United States in order to finally meet with his mother. Enrique began his travel to the United States eleven years after his mother left him in Honduras. Enrique faced gangsters, bandits and corrupt police officers when he was in the train called “El Tren de la Muerte”. The only thing that he was carrying was his mother’s phone number. But Enrique never gave up. Enrique’s courage, hope and help from strangers make him achieved his goal… meet with his mother.
1) From graph one, it shows Point Barrow, Alaska has a decrease of CO2(g) in their atmosphere from May to August and has an increase of CO2(g) from August to December. The reason this happens is that of how fossil fuel burning is emitting more CO2(g) into the atmosphere raising the amount. Then when it drops its summer by then showing that the absorption of vegetation filter the air of CO2(g) decreasing the amount in the air during summer and when winter comes to those plants and the air isn't filtered as much increasing the amount CO2(g) in the air. Then in Mauna Loa, there aren't a lot of industrial companies building factories meaning extra Co2(g) being emitted in the air won't be a problem.
Canyon Ranch’s strategy should include the full integration of the CLS and Guestware systems to give the managers on duty access to consolidated information so they can take any required actions immediately.
