I selected Dr. Kenneth Copeland, Director of Radiology and laboratory services South Bend Clinics, as the subject of my executive interview. He is working at South Bend clinic for last fifteen years. He initially worked as teacher in the Ivy Tech Community College and other laboratories as a staff manager. He worked at many places in Indiana before start at this place. He educated in the field of Biochemistry and did PhD in the same subject. Later, he joined south Bend Clinic and went on to work in various roles as administrator. He became director of laboratory and radiology services for last seven years. Our executive officer decided to give me additional role of radiology services at the same clinic. Hence, my leadership role has been expanded. He further explains that, leadership is a process, all your experience will transfers into the position. • What in your opinion is a strategic leader? Dr. Copeland says, I do not know exact wording for strategic leadership, but according to my opinion the strategic leader is who, works as separate individual along with group of people and create the road map, alliance, and assurance needed to accomplish the standards along with the goals for the organization. • What in your opinion is a strategic thinking, acting, and influencing? Dr. Copeland says again I do not known exact definition of it but, strategic thinking means that we are aware about what is needed for job position and working on plans for success of organization is acting. It is like always thinking on new ideas and creating new plans. He provided simple example of strategic thinking, acting, and influencing. When we started working on new radiology branch at Granger location. At the same time I was working on challenges, how to get the more revenue from Granger location radiology and laboratory services.
