Sauk Valley Community College should have a track and field team for several reasons. SVCC use to have a track and field team. Sadly, they dropped it in the nineteen seventies probably because of the expenses. Track and field is a very popular sport that many students might want to take part in middle and high school, or even at college level. Track isn’t a very expensive sport. It is one of the cheapest sports to participate in. Track and field is also very popular sport in colleges in the two hour radius from Sauk Valley Community College. Bringing track and field to Sauk will bring about 40-50 new students each year. Also, this will make Sauk become a better choice of colleges in the area, because of the distance.

When looking at NCAA division programs, one will notice different factors that make it that type of division. These factors all have to be considered when an athletic administrator is looking to move their program up or down in divisions. These decisions are crucial to the university because the outcome can have a positive or negative effect on more than just the athletic staff. One thing an administrator needs to look at is the athletic competition for that university. This is important, because you want to be able to compete at that type of level. You don’t want to waste time and money on a team that can’t compete at the division’s level. Another factor you have to look at is the amount of people. This is important because you need the right amount of staff and people in general to help the program function, whether that be coaches, game-day operators, or fans bringing in revenue. Money is another factor; without money the program won’t survive. Without money, the programs won’t have the means to succeed.

Two specific groups that I identify with as part of my decision to attend Columbia Southern University is based on my family and work. As an individual my choice to attend is based on my own desire to achieve a higher education in order to obtain a job that is satisfactory to the life and goals I have mapped out for myself. By having a job for which I have specifically attended school for, it will allow me to get and sustain a career conducive to my own happiness and prosperity. While my own individual choice to attend school is great, I have a family that encouraged me greatly in this decision. When parents first start realizing that their firstborn son is about to go to college, the feeling brings at least two concerns to their mind. First, they are saddened that their little boy is all grown up and about to head off into the world on his own. Second, the parents realize that they are about to get a huge hole in their bank account due to the fees that colleges require. The cost of college is so high that is forces the student to work at least one part-time job while attending college and causes families to worry constantly about the child in college.

They have a solid foundation that is respected everywhere. Their mission, vision, and values are strong and what are needed for the success of the programs throughout the United States. If they can keep the problems to a minimum there would be no way to stop them from being the most successful in the sport business. Also, the NCAA showed that they can overcome any obstacle and move forward which one needs to do in order to be successful and help other people and fan forget. While they can always use the Penn State scandal as an example and learning point, they allowed the university, fans, staff and players to move on by lifting a ban half way through the time they were sentenced.
