If I were a consultant for my place of employment, which is Spring Meadows Nursing Home the advice that I would offer to senior management on improving the organization's performance management culture, employee orientation, training, and development. With performance management culture I would suggest that they continue to offer on-going training for their workers, and to be more selective when hiring. I would also suggest that their be some type of recognition for those employees that show support for resident choice. With employee orientation I would suggest that all new employees be given a description of the residents as well as be introduced to the residents on their assigned units. They should be given a tour of the facility
A third method I would use is allowing the resident a choice. This is important for patient-centered-care since they are in a facility where they constantly need assistance. Sometimes this can make the resident feel upset and

As a manager of any unit within the Veterans Affairs Medical center, managers are expected to attend or review meetings minutes; meetings like the Nursing Council and Nurse Manager’s meetings as well as others committees. Managers are to hold staff meetings and communicate the minutes to all staff via email, or written form. Managers make sure all changes in policies, documentation, and other situations are reported to staff members. Managers are accountable for compliance of all regulatory standards, such as OSHA, CARF, and JC standards. Managers are to have an approved staffing plan, review expenditures affecting its cost, such as overtime, leave, and compensation time. Complete quarterly report/data, staffing effectiveness analysis reports, staffing updates, and FMLA information. As a manager, communication, performance improvement, staffing/recruitment, time and leave, safety/environment of care, controlled substances, adverse events/patient complaints, employee accidents/injuries, employee performance, performance appraisals and proficiencies, and staff development are all part of her duties.
Howard Terry Newman is 67 year old retired printer who suffered from Parkinson’s disease as well as arthritis, voice impairment, hiatal hernia, and heart trouble. Mr. Newman, the appellee, is contesting his stay between September 19, 1968 and November 11, 1968 at the appellant’s facility, Big Town Nursing Home. The plaintiff was admitted voluntarily by his nephew to the facility with the ability to leave as he pleased. However, on September 22nd, when Mr. Newman attempted to leave the facility, he was told that he could not use the phone or entertain visitors without the administrator’s permission. He proceeded to walk out; he was brought back and restrained on Wing 3 with “senile patients, drug addicts, alcoholics, mentally disturbed, incorrigibles and uncontrollables” according to the administrator testimony.

The reporting party (RP) stated her husband Vernon Ferguson DOB: 11/29/29 was sent to the emergency room due to a frozen shoulder on 3/29/16. The resident was released to return to the facility 3/30/16, however the facility refuse to allow the resident to return. The facility notified the family on 3/30/16 the resident was at the hospital and he would not be allowed back in the facility. The RP stated the resident was abandoned and forced to spend two nights in the emergency room prior to finding an alternative placement (Mountianview Care Home). The RP stated she paid the facility $6500 for the month of April and due to the facility eviction she is entitled to receive a refund. According to the RP the administrator stated the check went out

Member stating she was discharged home from Hanover Health and Rehab on 03/14/2017 with home health services in place. Member stating she had requested Encompass Home Health Agency but Bon Secours Home Health came out on 03/18/2017 and she stated she told Nurse she did not want that Agency. CM placed a call to Hanover Health and Rehab and spoke with Discharge Planner and she stated that Encompass could not take the case because of a shortage of staff. Member stated she would agree to have Bon Secours Home Health. Discharge Planner stated she would send the referral back to Bon Secours Home Health. Member stating she had post hospital follow up with PCP yesterday with no new changes. Member stating she reported the pain she is having to PCP
On this date worker visited Golden Living Nursing Home in Winfield, for the purpose of monitoring Mr. Smith's placement. Upon arrival worker realized, Mr. Smith had been moved since last visit. Worker asked the nurse passing out medication but she did not know whom worker was talking about. Worker then asked the nurse at the nurses’ desk and she stated he was now on the other hall. While looking for Mr. Smith's new room worker was stopped and asked who she was looking for. The NH employee directed worker to Mr. Smith's new room. The new room only includes Mr. Smith and one other person. The previous room included three residents.

Her symptoms started before going to bed and she felt like her heart rate was racing and felt short of breath. EMS was called and patient states her shortness of breath improved after 12 mg adenocard was given by the EMS. Patient has a medical history of senile nuclear sclerosis, anxiety, hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, asthma, heart attack, copd, renal insufficiency, palpitations and cataract removal. Patient is taking 22 medications in the assisted living. She was then admitted in our telemetry unit with a diagnosis of chest pain. Upon arrival in the unit, patient was Alert and Oriented to name,

Looking for a nursing home within 25miles of where my great-grandmother will live in Aiken, SC, there were 10 results. This included Azalea woods rehab & nursing center, Pruitt health of Aiken, Pepper hill nursing & rehab center, Anchor Health & Rehab of Aiken, Pruitt health of North Augusta, NHC Healthcare of North Augusta, Trinity Mission Health & Rehab of Edgefield, Pruitt health of Augusta Hills, Golden living center, and Stevens Park Health & Rehabilitation Center. Only one nursing home was rated as much above average for their quality measurses. This was demonstrated with five stars. One nursing home was rated as above average, three of the nursing homes were rated as average, four were rated as below average, and one nursing home was rated as much below average. These ratings were also demonstrated with stars. Therefore, I narrowed my search down to the top three. This included NHC Healthcare of North Augusta, Trinity Mission Health & Rehab of Edgefield, and Azalea woods rehab & nursing center.
I have known for sometime that I am not getting paid what I should. I didn't now that there was such a huge different in pay going from a nursing home to home health.
