Case Study: Task Force

I presented Esteban’s case during case consultation because I noticed that I had countertransference when doing his intake. My expectation when presenting this case was to receive feedback that would help me to provide effective treatment to Esteban without my countertransference affecting his treatment. This section of the paper will talk about the feedback I received about my countertransference and how to support Esteban.

Although the task force does effectively address the problem of substance abuse and addictive disorders, it does not effectively address co-occurring disorders. Early on in the text, a co-occurring disorder is defined as an individual who has a substance abuse disorder and a mental disorder at the same time. The task force mainly focuses on substance abuse. There are elements that are present in the treatment such as release prevention, engagement, and persuasion. The task force provides a number of interventions strategies address problems with substance use.

Just following up on our discussion on Friday regarding Which agencies should be memo billed VS direct billed in FY 15-16. One of the action items from that meeting was you will confirm with DOB that all funds identified for FY 15-16 for ITS was already received. John presented with anxiety, volatile anger, and potential conduct issues at the age of six. The mother reported that John has witnessed multiple disruptions in the family due to parent’s addictions and divorce. John’s mother went into a recovery center and was released to a transitional housing center approximately one and a half years ago. His mother had visitation rights and John would stay with her in the housing center. Prior to being transferred to my caseload, John was diagnosed with F41.1 Generalized Anxiety Disorder with a rule out of F91.1 Childhood Onset Conduct Disorder, and was seen by a licensed clinician at another facility for approximately one year. His treatment goals previous to being transferred were to display developmentally appropriate behavior and reduce his aggression toward others. John was resistant to treatment.

R/s on 05/05/16, Eli was admitted to McLeod Regional Medical Center for respiratory distress and apnea. R/s Eli was born prematurely at 34 weeks on 04/15/2016 and he has trouble feeding. R/s Eli was medically ready for discharge on Friday. R/s Amber (mother) was supposedly to come to the hospital at 8 pm on Friday for a 24-hour observation but she never showed up. R/s Amber has a 2-year-old in the home.

For this case study I am going to discuss 3 health promotions, the 3 health promotions I will be discussing are; obesity, exercise and smoking. On September 3, 2015, I was assigned this case to follow up. This case involves Ms Miranda Maria Celia a seventeen year old runaway female. I contacted Maria Miranda (parent) who reported that they moved to Baltimore, but that her daughter was back. Ms. Miranda agreed to call me back on Spetember 4, 2015, while she obtains a permanent address. I received no futher calls back.

"A closer look at the task scheduling reveals resource leveling across tasks during competing timelines. This practice creates focus conflict, quality issues, duration drag and threatens an on-­‐time delivery of the project. During the Technical Support tasks, Document Server tasks and Shared Drive tasks, Marcel, Jackson, and Valene have primary or secondary responsibilities throughout. Valene is used to install Document Servers (her area of expertise), then act as her own Quality Assurance as she tests her install. This is inconsistent with best-­‐practices for quality control. She might be better utilized focusing on installation, while being removed from testing. Task focus could be enhanced by having Jackson work with Phoebe on Document Server tasks and Ben and Kendrick and Jackson focus on Shared Drive tasks, using Marcel as support where needed instead of all of them spread across all tasks. Critical Path Resource Leveling The project is behind schedule and over budget. In order to complete the task on schedule and on budget, we should consider crashing the Critical Path by adding resources and Fast Tracking several activities. FTP Tasks lies on the Critical Path and could benefit from resource leveling. The primary responsibility is being carried by Zeke with help from Clemencia. Kendrick has finished his work and is available to the project. Using Kendrick would have a positive impact on both schedule by reducing CP by more than five days, and cost, reducing EAC by nearly $3,000."

TaskRabbit formerly known as RunMyErrand is a venture that emerged from a Facebook session known as fbFund incubator program that was based in the Bay Area. Two investors Baseline ventures and Maples Investments put into the venture up to $ 1 million that saw its expansion. This is an online based clearinghouse where people who are busy can sought the assistance of temporary helpers in completing tasks around town that they are not in a pposition to do so. This venture is seen to be more than just running errands for people, but one that is out there to build a community that is made up of people who have the will of helping each other out. TaskRabbit is now expanding and is kicking off formally in San Francisco which is its new corporate home. With the expansion it means that people who are busy can just go online and get the service of the TaskRabbit workers. These include tasks like grocery shopping, picking dry cleaning, and walking the dog and so on. The idea behind this is service networking which means that there is use of social networking in the actual world (Roush, 2010).

In reading the first article Coach Knight: The Will to Win, I found the article found Coach Knight to be very offensive and mean to his players. Coach Knight did not display good leadership skills. According to the article, Coach Knight’s drive and passion for excellence was not always received as well as his record of wins and losses Snook, Per low, Delacey, 2005).
