ELMIRA (WENY) - Plans are underway in the City of Elmira to help keep Ernie Davis' memory alive and visible. Notre Dame High School Senior, Kyle Minichin, took on the task of giving the community a visual reminder and place to remember Ernie Davis. His plan is to make a memorial park outfront the Ernie Davis Academy in Elmira. The first step is to move the already existing statue on Lake Street outside of the former Ernie Davis middle School and to the current Ernie Davis Academy on Hoffman Street. The Elmira School District already has plans to move the statue using the School Board's Capital Improvement Fund. Which leaves Minichin to create a memorial park surrounding the statue. "Well I'm hoping that the park will contain two

Durham, North Carolina is a prime example of a city that has seen both the tangible and intangible benefits of athletic stadium construction. The city of Durham invested heavily in the construction and recent renovation of the Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP), home to the Tampa Bay Rays AAA Affiliate Durham Bulls. The DBAP has become an anchor for downtown Durham, and has led to a rapid revitalization of the once depressed former tobacco based community.

I agree the supervisor’s created a hostile and disrespectful work environment. Ms. Faragher must not have known about the employer policy on how to report her supervisor’s for their harassing behavior. It appears Ms. Faragher did not follow the employer protocol or chain of command to give an account on the way she was being spoken to and for the unwanted advances and touching. Even though she waited to file a sexual harassment suit against the City of Boca Raton, the employer should be held accountable for the actions and harassment by their supervisors. Bill Terry, Davis Silverman and Robert Gordon knew about each other’s conduct. They took advantage of their authority by the way they carried on while in the work place and by the

With all this outside interest in developing musical tourism beyond Graceland, Sun Studios, and few small downtown museums, none considered revitalizing the abandoned lot that once house the Stax record label and studio in South Memphis. Outside of an interpretive marker placed there, the location remained forgotten and ignored, even by potential developers or the Church of God in Christ, the organization that razed the building to make way for a community center. A turn in Memphis’ commitment to preserve historic sites occurred in 1997 under the leadership of Willie W. Herenton, the first African American elected Mayor of Memphis. Miriam Decosta-Willis in Notable Black Memphians noted, “As Mayor, he focused on economic, educational, and cultural development of the city through the infusion of private investments.” On July 13, 1997, the Commercial Appeal ran an article entitled “Preserving What’s Left Struggle Continues to Save Defining Places in City’s Past” that chronicled this new era of historic and cultural preservation. Journalist Michael Lollar interviewed Ward Archer Jr, who led the failed attempt to save Stax in 1989, and archeologist Guy Weaver about the changing climate in Memphis’s commitment to historic
Cities face difficult issues on a regular basis, the responsibility to resolve these issues is placed upon the City Council. These elected officials have a multitude of people expecting them to make correct decisions in the communities best interest. But who is to say which call is the right call on any number of issues, that's why council members must use their best judgment when making decisions. After watching the September 21, 2016 Bloomington City Council meeting, this became clear to me. There were a couple issues that really stood out to me and seemed vital to address. The first issues that caught my eye were included in Proposition 13-35 to Authorize the Issuance of General Obligation Bonds for the Purpose of Providing Funds to Pay
In the 17, almost 18 years that I’ve been alive, I have been extremely blessed in the fact that I’ve never lost a blood relative that was very close to me. However, I have lost a person that was especially close to my family and I. Terry Wayne Davis was a neighbor of mine all my life. Our families are extremely close to one another. I often hear people grieving about how they once lost a relative that they grew up with or someone who was in the family that meant the world to them. However, there are moments when I believe that you can be as close to a friend as a blood relative. That happened to be who Terry was to me. Terry played a significant role in my life because of three main reasons.
The city of Albuquerque, New Mexico is one that is bursting with culture, attractions, and vibrant life. However, people often overlook the true beauty and nature of the metropolis, focusing rather on the facade of drugs, poverty, and violence that has become synonymous to the city name as a result of perpetuated stereotyping in popular culture. In order to uncover the true beauty of Albuquerque, we propose that the City of Albuquerque attack the problems at their singular, root cause: police corruption. By taking action to end police corruption in this amazing city, we firmly believe that the overwhelming issues of drugs, poverty, and violence can finally be quelled.

Mr. Lassiter, being the manager of sales and marketing, should have addressed the entire organization of the new system changes.
