The article Desperation at Sea by Rebecca Zissou tells us about people trying to escape war, poverty and natural disaster. First, on April 17, 2015 Ali 70 other migrants were migrating to Europe and start anew life but thousands of of people died trying to cross to Europe. Secondly, people were snuggled into plastic boats and abandon them to protect them selfs. Then, some passengers get to stay in Europe permanently. After that they need to find a job and often fight for it. Finally, this book was about escaping from their homeland.

At about 8 in the morning, I woke up smelling the most delicious smell of my breakfast for my birthday. As I get out of bed, the smell of food is making me glide through the air and taking me to the kitchen. But, before I can even go into the kitchen I can smell all of the food whispering in my ears and moving up my nose. The smell of brown sugar and banana cascade through the house like an intense air freshener as the banana bread is basking in the oven. This smell only intensifies as the aroma of buttery, sugary pancakes hits me like a ton of brick and refuses to leave. However, the savory smell of potatoes and eggs kick the sweet smell out with a punch as my mom begins to produces the savory foods like the speed of light.

A Merchant Mariner career provide an established job and the outstanding of income to the seamen moreover, it also offers a great benefit to cover their family. With the prospect of jobs demand a merchant mariner has opportunities for growth in the marine jobs and it has high level demand to serve the maritime shipping industry, particularly in the private sector like a cruise ship and cargo industry that operate around the world. These private sector depend on the Merchant Mariners to perform preventative maintenance on equipment and delivery cargo on time. Base on the world consumer and the US economy depend on cargo ship and Cruise ships to support gross domestic product.

In the movie Castaway, the main character, Chuck was a typical worker at FedEx. He went overseas with a few other co-workers on a helicopter to deliver some packages, but unexpectedly, the weather was getting out of hand. The helicopter was losing control in the storm causing it to go down and explode in the sea. He survived out of all the people in the helicopter, but now he was stuck on an island in the middle of nowhere. He had to make food for himself by hand instead of buying it. Get water, even if it was disgusting water, he had to make lots sacrifices for himself to be able to live even if it it was extremely dangerous. Chuck learns how to survive on an island, where he remains for years with his hand made volleyball which was his best friend.

In the movie Cast Away Tom Hanks plays Chuck Noland, an obsessively punctual FedEx executive who wants things done right and on time. But when his plane goes down in the Pacific Ocean during a storm, he is the only one to survive the crash. He wakes up on a deserted island with nothing but the deflated

Chuck Noland is all about getting packages delivered on time. He only cares about FedEx but on one stormy Christmas night everything changes; his FedEx aircraft crashes into the ocean. He loses all of the members of his aircraft. Chuck wakes up to find himself washed on the banks of a deserted Island. He spends four years of his life there befriending a volleyball.

His determination and faith serve to evoke optimism within the responder and it gives them hope that Chuck will continue to survive until he gets off the island.

When Chuck begins to gain back his consciousness he decides to go and investigate the island which he soon discovers is abandoned. While searching around the island Chuck finds several FedEx packages that were onboard the plane when it had crashed along with the dead body of one of the planes pilots .After seeing this Chuck decides he needs to find an escape and leave the island. He attempts to signal for a rescue then decides to try to make an escape with the life craft he had floated to the island on but the waves were too controlling.
