Born into Hope How would it feel to be nothing? How would it be to be born without hope? This is something that is often true about the Medieval Period, this is a time without social privileges unless you were born into wealth. Even if many were not born into wealth there are select few that have the advantage to be a nobleman, kings, queens, and church people. The people right under the king are the nobles. The nobles are born into their place in society which guarantees them wealth, privilege, and powerful family. During the times of the medieval era there was a form of government set up that was similar to a caste system. (thefindertimes.com) To define a caste system, it is a class structure determined by birth. If your family is poor then you will be poor, also the same about rich families. During medieval times a hierarchy existed, a pyramid of sorts with royalty at the top and peasants, comprising the bulk of the population, at the bottom. (thefindertimes.com). This is a recognition of a caste system. The part that is different from a caste system is the possibility to change your own fate. This could be done through loyalty or hard work. This free time was used to have fun. When there was not any formal activity going about nobles had time to do what they wanted. These activities include reading, writing, art, sewing, music, gardening, walking, horseback riding, mock fights, hunting, playing cards, board games, watching plays, boating, bobbing for apples, and many more. These are just some major activities that many nobles were known to do during medieval times. Many of these are even similar to those of our times.
The rights of the nobles were inherited through family name and not only through wealth. The nobles did have responsibilities, they had to take care of warfare. Wealth for both groups increased due to the commercial revolution. The commercial revolution occurred when Merchants created guilds and controlled commerce within their towns. This control over the economy allowed them to raise and lower prices at their
The caste system changed because it became more specific. In Spain before the 1450s they had a general caste system that consisted of if you were spanish or not. If you were full blooded Spanish then you were the highest on the caste system. Any type of mix resulted in the lower castes. However after the 1450s in Spain it became more important that people of mixed race be put into specific caste systems. Unlike earlier when it was you were Spanish or you were not, it was now how many parts spanish were you. Depending on this percentage or part you were put in a higher or lower caste. Similarly in Southern Asia there was a caste system almost as specific as this with the exception that based on what you did during your life you would move up or down the caste.

In the Middle Ages your social status depended on your rank. The ranks were kings, nobles, knights, and then serfs.(Doc.1) Typically, the serfs did the most for everyone else, they provided food and services when demanded in exchange for protection and maybe something to eat.(Doc.1) Knights provided protection and military service for nobles in exchange for land. In discussing the scenario involving Officer Monroe’s traffic stop there are several integrity issues. The definition used for integrity in our class is as follows: “…forthright honesty and being the kind of person others can rely on for accurate, complete, and timely disclosure of facts.”
For the nobility, having a superior status and a fortune can put you in a finer, more privileged position in the social order. The men had access to more advanced weapons and artillery, along with training that developed their fighting skills. However, the nobles abused their status by committing crimes against the peasantry. They were able to get away with their felonies by corrupting
When we talk about caste system, one must talk about the southern and border states of the United States during the 1877 to mid-1960. These states primarily operated and upheld what is called Jim Crow laws. Under Jim Crow laws it legalized anti-black racism; it was a way of life for black citizens to live under a series of rigid anti-black laws. It was a system which was supported by beliefs that white citizens were superior to black citizens to include intelligence, morality and civilized behavior. Jim Crows laws suggested by mixing of the races would produce mongrel race that would destroy America, treating blacks equal would encourage interracial sexual relations and violence was the means to keep blacks at the bottom of the race hierarchy

The Medieval Era The Medieval era is so easily generalized into the three orders of those who fight, those who work, and those who pray, or even simply divided into the privileged and unprivileged. These distinctions are important, for the ability of the church and manor to influence a peasant's actions and to take a peasant's earnings was obviously a central component of a peasant's life. However, when peasants constituted such a sizable majority of the population (over 90 percent), it is also important to recognize the distinctions among them. Some peasants were free and some were serfs. Some peasants were well off and some were barely subsisting.
The Nobles or Lords were the upper and middle class. These were the people who owned the land and were the rulers. It was their responsibility to insure that the peasants and churchmen were protected so that they could live in peace and act as judges to handle domestic disputes. The serfs, peasants, and Yeomen kept the economy going with hard work. Church would now begin to play a huge role during this time. http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/615557/United-Kingdom/44830/England-in-the-15th-century
