Catholic Charities provides service to people in need, pushes for justice in social structures, and calls upon the entire church and other people of good will to do the same. Catholic Charities agencies across the country witness to the love of Christ by helping people in need and by serving their communities. Catholic Charities USA is a national organization that offers support to member agencies, provides disaster relief and promotes poverty-reduction through research and legislative reform. It's listed as #15 on the top 50 largest charities on the U.S. according to Forbes.

Today, the people of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health Care reach out to the people of San Antonio with new medical technology and high standards of excellence, a mission of caring is planted firmly in the efforts of the founding Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. They remain the only Catholic faith-based, non-profit health care system in San Antonio and New Braunfels ("About Us", 2015).

There are other agencies that are funded purely on donations alone. The Salvation Army is one of these agencies, and it offers assistance to the society in dire need in ways such as housing, health, providing support, clothing, food etc. (The Salvation Army 2009)

Every day in Southeast, DC at 7:00am women over the ages of 18 are escorted out of Harriet Tubman Women’s Shelter until the doors open again to secure their beds at 7:00pm. Harriet Tubman Women’s shelter is a “is a 100 bed low-barrier emergency shelter for women over the age of 18 who are in urgent need of housing, food or case management” (Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Washington, Inc., 2010). Similar to Howard University and their School of Social Work principles, Catholic Charities mission caters to vulnerable populations through empowerment and advocating for those who encounter social injustice. The Catholic Church has long helped those in need.The Church's love for the poor has long been part of her constant tradition. The Church urges us to go the extra mile and help those in need. The church has held many prosperous charities. The church has also eheld many food drives and other types of donation events.They do this quite often actually.

From looking at this contextually, we are able to look at this charity in relation to the ideas of liberation theology. Ronald Mcdoland House Charities (RMHC) has been running Since 1974 they have created created many programs that strengthen families that are going through difficult times. RMHC provides important resources and compassionate care to children and their families who are being served by leading hospitals worldwide.

Salvation Army is an international non-profit organization that operates here in the United States and abroad, to help the vulnerable people; it began serving the people of the Green Bay area on February 14, 1891 and is celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2016 (Salvation Army).

It is important for me to attend Bishop McNamara Catholic High School because I want the best possible education I can get in high school. I need to be prepared for college and Bishop McNamara is the school that I feel would best prepare me for my college years. Bishop McNamara is also my ideal school because of the Catholic education I will receive and is very appealing because of the small size, allowing more one-on-one with the teachers.

Several other churches joined with Christ our King to work within the community to rebuild and as a development ECCO was born. Presently the director of the non-profit group is Mr. Jack Little. According to the ECCO website, the mission statement for ECCO is: “To provide safety net services to our low income neighbors, while empowering them to create a better future for themselves, their families, and our communities. All programs and services strive to guide clients toward self-sufficiency. ECCO 's ministry of ‘Helping Neighbors Help Themselves’ attempts to improve the quality of life in our community in a compassionate way that respects the dignity and worth of every person.” (ECCO)

Human Services Food Banks, Food Pantries and Food Distribution. I choose this charity because there are a lot of people in the country that they do not have food . Food is essential in life and not everyone has food everyday. Though this foundation it is a good way to help those people that do not have food. This foundation is safe way to donate and all the money that people donate goes to the contribution, Gifts and Grants, they do not have feeds for membership dues. As you see this is why a would choose to contribute to Human Services charity.

Catholic Relief Services began as an effort, led by Catholic Bishops from the United States, to aid those who survived the traumatic events of World War II in European countries. Since 1943, this organization has evolved in mission, purpose, and vision in order to provide assistance to indigent individuals in foreign countries, promote social development, and help better the morals of the world through the teachings of Jesus Christ. Not only does Catholic Relief Services deliver their guidance and comfort to those living in other countries, but this organization also encourages those residing in the United States to fulfill their moral obligation to help the less fortunate in any way that they can. The Catholic Church going to the peripheries is an essential part of our lives. If you were in need you would want someone to help you, to get you back on your feet. Those affected by recent natural disasters and other life threatening events are being helped by people like you and me. Catholics all around the world are helping those in need, by donating money through out of uniform days and other fundraisers.

The role of the Catholic Church going to the peripheries is huge for the community. First off, the Catholic Church helps those in need by donating to people who don’t have shelter, or people who don’t have food or water to drink. They also help by holding volunteer work, so people who want to help those in need can by being there. Another thing the Catholic Church does to help those in need is praying. Some people get together to help those in need by asking the Lord to help them. Others pray for them by themselves to help for those in need. The Catholic Church is very generous for being there when people are in need. The Catholic church greatly represents the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy. They would help feed the hungry by bringing goods to those who need it. The Church can give drink to the thirsty by not wasting water. The Catholic Church helps people to shelter the homeless by collecting supplies they need. They can clothe the naked by donating clothes to those who don’t have enough. The Church can visit the sick and imprisoned giving blood and spending time volunteering at nursing homes. They bury the dead by sending a card to to someone who has lost a loved one. Finally, the Catholic Church give alms to the poor by donating money, like a the poor box in the Church. The Spiritual Works of Mercy can also represent the Catholic Church helping those in need. Overall, the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy really represent how the Catholic Church helps those in need, and the Church is a good role model for all Catholics alike.
