There are many social problems in our world today, many of which can cause health problems like air pollution in China. China is one of the largest countries in the world with a population of around 1.4 billion people. Air pollution or smog has been a serious issue that China has been trying to control, recently the president of China said that the country plans on leaving behind coal and move towards renewable energy. China plans to stick to its plan from the Paris agreement to focus on cutting C02 emissions and focus on renewable energy and move China away from a polluted planet to the leader in renewable energy.

Air pollution in China has been a very serious issue and a health crisis, China is so heavily populated that everything that people do on a normal day is leads to air pollution. China’s use of coal is the major cause for China air problem and doesn't look like it is going to be slowing down anytime soon without the help of the government. “Coal is the major cause, and will continue to be the country's biggest source of energy and air pollution. Although billions have been pledged for renewable energy, 200 new coal power plants will be built across the country”(Charney). With China’s large use of coal they need to focus on cutting down on production and focus shutting down coal factories and moving towards not using coal at all.
