The divorce rate in the United States is fairly high. When saying high, report shows that about 40 to 50 percent of married couples in the United States divorce ("Marriage & Divorce." Http://www.apa.org/topics/divorce/. N.p., n.d. Web.) Divorce is a big deal and is not just something to do. Although opinions may vary, the most common cause of divorce is lack of communication. Other common causes of divorce are infidelity and abuse. The top cause of divorce is lack of communication. In the case of lack of communication, there will be a lot an arguments happening. Once married, it is only right if you and your spouse to have an open marriage. Saying open meaning there should be a lot of back and forth communication between the both of you. …show more content…

Infidelity also could fall under the situation of lack of communication. During a marriage, everything is not going to always be good. Nobody is perfect. But infidelity or cheating is more than likely to occur, if there are trust issues, or no understanding of the relationship. Because of the misunderstanding and outrages infidelity, divorce is the next step of a marriage. Last but not least, abuse is a big cause of divorce. Sexually, physically, mentally, and or emotionally, it does not matter, because abuse is abuse. In an abusive relationship, the marriage could become quite dangerous. Because all these things fall under lack of communication, everything could be avoided if it was more talking involved in marriages. Nobody likes abuse. Abuse is nothing that should be taking place in anybody’s life, but defiantly not in a marriage. That is why abuse is the third most common cause of divorce. Living in the United States of America, we all have a high rate of getting a divorce, if married. Lack of communication, infidelity, and abuse are the 3 main causes of divorce plans. On wedding day, the wife and husband promise to be with each other’s through thick and thick. The married couple supposed to be with each other’s when times get rough and all, which means it is a must to communicate a lot with your spouse.
