Have you ever sat down and thought about events that happened during the civil rights movement in the 50’s and 60’s? Some people feel differently about this situation when this topic is brought up in public places; Some people don’t understand the things that happened during this time. Perhaps people would understand it more if they learned things like the Great Migration and how people reacted to it, Jim Crow laws and what they did, and how racial issues have changed over the years.
The Great Migration started in 1916 through 1970. African Americans left the South and moved to areas in the North and West. Then In white communities, most were not accustomed to being around African Americans. The number of African Americans started to show up and people's reactions were

Blacks and whites come together today more than they used to. Even though the U.S. might need some more improvements here it’s still getting better. The Civil Rights Movement helped a lot to bring blacks and whites together today. In 2009 when Former President Obama took office as the first African American to take office that made most African American citizens feel like they were equal. Also when he took office people were happy because he became president because they felt like President Obama was going to make the United States a better place to live for all races. After all of these decades many people are accustomed around different races and enjoy there company. In conclusion racial issues changed over the decades and getting better in the United States.
